Show Millard County Vivian s Thurs March L'SPS 24 1988 - Page 5 Peterson Holman 90th Birthday The children of Vivian Peterson Holman would like to extend an invitation to all of her friends and neighbors to attend an Open House in honor of their mother’s 90th Birthday on Sunday April 3 1988 from 4 to 7 pm at the ME Bird Center in Delta Utah Vivian has been a resident of Millard County almost her whole life She was born April 5 1898 in Scipio Utah to Jens P and Christine Jensen Peterson She was raised and lived in Scipio until age 14 when she moved to Hinckley Millard Utah where she attended Academy for the next 3 years while living with her brother Dean F Peterson and his wife Lucille Dean was a teacher at Millard Academy and later Delta High School In 1916 Vivian moved to Provo Utah where she spent the next year attending Brigham Young University majoring in English While at BYU she met W Wallace Holman and they were married April 6 1917 Their first year of marriage was spent in Park City Utah where Wallace worked in a mine In 1918 they moved to the Delta area where Wallace where Wallace took up In 1919 they farming and ranching bought a farm in the area where Vivian lived for the next 67 years Vivian lost her husband of 51 years in September of 1968 Their marriage was blessed with 5 children: Howard Stuart (deceased) Maurice Kent (Bud) Boshard MT BiUings Marjorie CA Faye Turner Santa Anaheim Ana CA and Wally Beth Bishop Tucson AZ Vivian has 19 grandchildren 33 great grandchildren and great great will All 5 generations grandchild together to celebrate Vivian’s birthday Vivian spent many years on the farm for farm hands and big cooking thresher crews All enjoyed her delicious meals Vivian taught piano lessons She has made many lovely quilts and has done beautiful crocheting and hand work winning many blue ribbons for her talents Vivian has always enjoyed socializing with her many friends and she still enjoys playing rook and bridge When by herself she enjoys playing the game of boggle and doing cross word puzzles Vivian has been a member of the LDS Church all her life After Wallace died Vivian sold the ranee but she continued to live there until the summer of 1986 when she moved to Delta and to the new Sands Apartment Complex There she enjoys the company of many fine people Though it was hard to leave her home on the farm after 67 years she has enjoyed her new life in an apartment Her children wish to publically express to their mother their love for her and their appreciation for all she does for them and for the fine example of she has always set for womanhood them and their families Vivian spent many years on the farm for farm hands and big cooking thresher crews All enjoyed her delicious meals Vivian taught piano lessons She has made many lovely quilts and has done beautiful crocheting and hand work winning many blue ribbons for her talents For nearly 60 years she has been a member of the Jolly Stitchers Vivian has always enjoyed socializing with her many friends and she still enjoys playing rook and bridge When by herself she enjoys playing the game of boggle and doing cross word An Open House was recently held in Bountiful to honor Stella Hawley on her eightieth birthday The open house was hosted by her children Robert and Louise Carling Dale and Pat Carling and Mark and Marlena Lewis Approximately eighty of her family and friends attended Stella was born March 8 1908 in Deseret the daughter of Hyrum Stiles Cahoon and Harriet Gertrude Church Cahoon She married Fon Roy Hawley July 23 1948 and they have lived in Oasis ever since They have fourteen r grandchildren and great most of whom were grandchildren able to attend the open house Amond the guests attending were her brother Newel and Louise Cahoon of Logan and her sister and Nayon Eugene Young of Sutherland CITIZEN by Karen Scothern by Karen Scothern A special invitation is extended to all seniors (starting at age 60) to join us at the ME Bird Center Our quantity of life cannot be changed but we can change the quality of our lives Dinner is served at pm Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday Tuesday March 29: Roast Pork augratin potatoes peas pineapple upside down cake bread butter milk juice March 30: Beef Stew Wednesday wvegetables cheese stick milk juice jello cookie cornbread Thursday March 31: Baked Chicken whipped potatoesgravy apple brown betty glazed carrots bread butter milk juice Please notify us by 10 am for your reservation We look forward to your piesence The Sophisticated Lady I jrmerly the Next to New Boutique) at Pendray Plaza Open Tues thru Sat Sat Owner Kathy Walker 11 AM 6 PM I !
