hospital Another nice feature of the new equipment is its telemetry capabilities What this is is that the patient is connected to a small device that fits into a pocket of his gown that radios the signals from his heart to the central monitor While on telemetry the patient can then go anywhere in the hospital and still be monitored An example of its usefulness was seen with one of the first patients using the new was needed and equipment An by using the telemetry unit the patient was taken to the department while being constantly monitored and bulky without having to transport monitoring equipment along with him heart patients who are Additionally able to walk about can do so without and their monitoring interrupting without being restricted by long wires and a large piece of equipment The acquisition of this important technologically advanced equipment is another example of the local hospital’s commitment to serving its community and its desire to be ready to take care of the health care needs of the people of West Millard County area Monitoring of patients with heart problems has taken a step forward at the Delta Community Medical Center with the recent purchase of a new “state of the art” heart monitoring system The director of nursing Debbie Shelley RN states that the staff at the hospital are very excited about the new equipment and the additional capabilities that it has Although the hospital for some time has been able to monitor the heart patterns of critical patients with suspected heart attacks or other medical proof the new the advantage blems system besides its latest technology and circuitry cluding sophisticated alarm mechanisms is that there are three new central monitors the that display constantly patients’ heart rhythms The value of this Mrs Shelley points out is that it allows the time their better utilize staff to nursing while still monitoring the critical patient’s heart tracing In fact she may even be in the room of one critical patient and by pressing a button on his be able to watch the heart monitor on another of a patient tracing The annual Cattlemen’s Banquet was held in Fillmore with the following speakers: Dick Probert
