skip of $10 reported at DJ’s Mirage in Lynndyl 9:00 am - Traveler reported to have left his wife at gas station in Delta 9:49 pm - Disturbance reported at a Delta bar November 10 4:56 am - IPP Security reports that a couple of people are ripping up the Mancamp 10:50 am - Kanosh resident reports that someone tore down a fence gate and stole steel posts November 11 r 8:30 am Spectacular 10:45 am - Pheasant hunters reported trespassing and shooting towards property in Flowell 12:47 pm - Flowell resident reports that pheasant hunters shot at husband 2:23 pm - Delta man reports that transients bilked him out of $22 Would like it returned if possible 2:45 pm - Lost child reported in The 2nd session of swimming lessons is now in progress and classes are going along very well Toni Harris is teaching the Mommy & Me and Preschool classes in the mornings and Jay Paulman is teaching the Beginning Swim Classes in the evenings Several inquiries have been made about an adult beginning class The pool would like to announce that an adult beginning class will be offered as soon as six adults have enrolled The 3rd winter swimming lesson session will begin Monday November 26th and run til December 14 the 4th session will not begin until the new year Monday January 7 November is the month to purchase your one year family swim pass For 30 days a person can go to the pool and buy a one year family pass for only $6000 a 20 savings over the regular family pass A pool swim pass makes Miss Utah 1905 lived up to “Zella has kept active and busy doing many things and that shows what a high quality person she really is” Lynn Lambert Miss Utah 1984 Zella Swenson friend of many Delta residents and mother of Geneal Ashby died Sunday November 4 in Murray Utah Zella was noted for her full active and happy life and for being Miss Utah 1905 Last March almost eighty years after she was crowned Miss Utah Zella was paid a special visit by Miss Utah 1984 The Salt Lake Lynn Lambert Tribune March 29 1984 recorded that upon meeting Miss Lambert Zella told the new queen “being chosen for the royal honor entails lifelong responsibility” Miss Lambert agreed “Being Miss Utah is a responsibility and an honor that lasts longer than just one year In the case of Mrs Swenson it has lasted 79 years” she said Zella was chosen as Miss Utah on July 24 1905 at a Pioneer Day celebration sponsored by six LDS wards from Memorial services for Betty Lou Black its eye A horse focuses by changing the angle of its head not by changing the shape of the lens of as humans do the eye a super 8:00 pm' After your big feast on Thanksgiving bring your family friends and relatives to the the pool for a delightful swim and burn off those extra calories Then Friday after Thanksgiving the pool will be open for the Early Bird Swim from 6:00 to 10:00 am and then again for open swimming from 12 noon to 10:00 pm Saturday the pool will be open for its usual winter schedule from 12 noon to 10:00 pm Starting immediately the pool will be closed for the lunch time swim (Monday through Friday) due to the Middle School coming to the pool for swimming lessons This lunch schedule will continue until Friday Nov 2 1984 at 10:00 am Officiating was Bishop Jess Black The opening prayer was by Phillip Smith A tribute “to Betty” followed by Lorene Smith The dedication of the grave was by Grayson Roper at the final resting place in Hillside Cemetery Greybull Wyoming and Betty long time Stanley residents of Sutherland and Delta had just moved to Greybull Sept 2 to be near her son and wife and family from Sutherland were John JoLynn and five children Phillip ind Lorene Smith from Fool Creek Grayson and Cheryl Roper from Cokeville Wyoming and John and Dorothy Teichert Also attending were Betty’s four sons and families Ralph and Cathy Weber and family Harlo Montana Marvin and Fran Weber and two sons Greybull Wyoming Ron and Cindy MonWeber and family Harloton tana Mike and Linda Weber and famiand one Oklahoma ly Lawton brother Ralph Fox and wife of Deavor Wyoming in the several small communities southern part of the Salt Lake Valley Zella’s cheerfullness earned her the title of the “Sunshine Lady” at the Care Center in Murray Glenwood where she lived She greeted new residents as they moved into the center and made regular rounds to visit the other residents Zella was born March 161890 in what is now Sandy She was crowned Miss Utah when she was 15 years old Her parents were Thomas Edward and Ann Paramore Marriott She married Peter Clyde Swenson on Sept 15 1908 in Salt Lake City Utah The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov 15 1911 He later died on July 11 1964 She was an active member of the LDS Church where she was awarded a 40 year pin for service in the Primary She was President Sand- organization burr Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and also was a member of the Salt Lake County DUP Board She was a member of the Ladies Lions and president of the Sandy Fireman s Auxiliary Survivors include sons and daughters Mrs Leon (Laura)Porduhn American Fork Utah Archie SwenDenneth Mrs Utah Moab son (Grace) Swenson Sandy Utah Robert C Swenson Sandy Utah Mrs Bryce Delta Utah (Geneal) Ashby Mrs Vera Swenson Murray Utah Mrs Barbara Swenson 29 grandSan Mateo California five children 72 Preceded in Eudora and death by two daughters Lucille two sons Lavell and LcRoy Swenson Funeral services were held November 6 in Sandy Geniel H Wilson Marjorie A Fellows 77 Fellows Marjorie Anderson died Nov 9 1984 in a Salt Lake City hospital of a long illness She was born July 16 1907 in Utah to Joseph M and Farmington Ethel Pinder Anderson She married Joseph Howard Fellows on Nov 20 1926 in Salt Lake City Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple He died in 1979 Mrs Fellows was an active member of the LDS Church She is survived by four daughters Mrs Hal Hardcastle (Marion) Mrs Willard (Janice) Holladay Knibee Salt Lake City Mrs Martin Chernek Bakersfield (Barbara) California and Mrs Knox (JoseFillmore also phine) Huntsman survived by 12 grandchildren 10 and the followand sisters Josef ing brothers Anderson Thelma Jackson Joyce Norda and Lois Kemp all of Salt Lake City and Dorothey Elledge of Wheat Ridge Colorado She was preceded in death by a sister Edna Wright Funeral services were held Tuesday Nov 13 1984 at 1 pm in the Deseret Mortuary in Salt Lake City Interment was in the Mt Olivet Cemetery Salt Lake City 52 Wilson Harmon Geniel beloved wife daughter and sister died November 8 1984 in Salt Lake City after a short illness her special Quiet and unassuming sense of caring and willingness to share were loved and appreciated by all who knew her Geniel was born Sept 7 1932 in Holden Utah a daughter of Owen She M and Hazel Wood Harmon married Robert R Wilson on June 19 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS She was employed by Temple Skaggs Alpha Beta for 32 years in An the data control department 11th active member of Holladay Ward she served in the stake and ward MIA and Sunday School She graduated from Millard High School Fillmore She is survived by her husband of Salt Lake City her mother
