College Algebra and Algebra trigonometry textbooks and materials “I’ll show parents how to work trig charts and geometry proofs I hope for them to see what contents are being used and what the purposes of the courses are” said Mrs Conant Mr Jacobson said “Hopefully I wili have some of my students help me in some unusual chemistry and physics demonstrations I‘ll also have some chemical aparatus set up for viewing” Most of the teachers agree that this new open house idea is going to attract a lot of parents Mr Jacobson recalled his past departmental open houses and said “The the only JV team that went Colby said “Nobody from Delta placed but it helped prepare us for the Governor’s Cup” That cbmpetition will be held on Nov at Taylorsville and Granite High Schools Mr Hansen the debate coach said “It was a good shake down cruise to show where we have strength and where we need to improve We came against some of the best 3A and 4A teams in the state and came out on the short end Everybody won something but not as much as we would have liked” Volleyball team honored Honor and respect that’s exactly what the Delta High Volleyball team received on the honor assembly on Monday The team recently won the state championship in the 2A competition The three team captains Darcy Peacock DeAnn Fowles and LeAnn Warnick first spoke telling about members of the team Coach Wiscombe then said some thank you’s and presented the state championship trophy to Principal Simmons to be displayed in the trophy case Considering the closeness of the final game against Emery the team felt it was a good idea to borrow the video from Dirk Fowles and play the final game for the entire student body so they could feel the excitement of the game The Delta team came from a deficit to win Terri Cottrell said “The game was really exciting and the team played with a lot of enthusiasm” Sabrina Grindle and Becky Sannes both agreed that watching the game on video was almost like being there They thought the team looked like junior Olympic material Jennifer Lewis said “The girls did a terrific job They’ve built up a great deal of pride in the school They definitely are champions” The town of Tarzana Calif was named for the fictional character Tarzan whose creator Edgar Rice lived there for many Burroughs years Acappella plans big performance November 19 marks the largest concert put on by the Acappella Choir in years Beginning at 7:00 PM in the auditorium Springville’s Acappella SUSC’s Jazz Opus III and choial ensembles along with Delta’s Acappella and Show Choir will perform separate and group numbers Tickets may be purchased at the door before the performance Singers from the Delta vocal department will work under the direction of SUSC’s director Ron Aden Kandi Day said “Mr Aden was really fun to work with last year He gave the Acappella a lot of new ideas that helped us improve” Numbers that the Acappella will perform are “My Heart is Offered Still to You” “Adoramus Te Christe” and “Steal Away” “Ghostbusters” “Longest Time” and “Footloose” are songs that the Show Choir will perform Springville will spend the night Monsince they are day and have her as a team member We enjoy her willingness to help out and her warm sense of humor Mrs Capps is not new to the teaching profession She taught fifth grade last year at Delta Middle School and has taught Grades 3 5 Title I and Resource in many schools in several different states Mrs dedicated Capps is a hard working of the Millard School employee District She spends many long hours preparing for her students and preparing subject matter for two grade levels is no easy task!!
