Show Page 2 - USPS Millard Count) Thurs Nov 15 - - H (fmnnumta We have been watching “The Brain” series on PBS and really enjoying it I was particularly interested in the segment dealing with the most primitive the part in all part of the brain creatures which deals with instinctive behavior It discussed the French scientist who spent 7 months in a cave in Texas to learn more about the sleeping and waking cycles After I got over my initial shudder of spending 7 months in a cave was intrigued that he functioned naturally on a 25 hour day can identify with that schedule it would suit me fine I need an extra hour The program also discussed the effects of shift work on people and how most people naturally function better sleeping at night and working during the day It showed a company in Northern Utah who sought professional assistance to determine the most efficient order of shifts and length of time each shift should be maintained Under the new schedule the workers were happier and the productivity of the company showed a dramatic increase My ideal cycle is to go to bed between midnight and 2 am and get up between 10 am and noon And forcan do that several times a tunately week I have long since stopped getting up in the morning to see the children off to school My day starts better and their definitely starts better I’m not very pleasant before 10 am to put it mildly The people on the program who suffered terrific depression in the winter was also fascinating The diagnosis was the brain requires a certain amount of light to enter via the eyeballs and the people suffering the depression were not receiving adequate amounts The was to move to more prescription southern climates where the days re- - 1984 § no Bad check menace “What I mained longer or sit in front of special lights for several hours a day Without the diagnosis and treatment some of the people were actually suicidal Some of the programs are a little over my head (it is a telecourse) but I am hanging in there and it is one of the few times I really wish we had a video recorder Shows like that can be reruns any time for me Rita Julie and I have been attending the Ladies Weight Lifting Class sponsored by Delta Parks and Recreation and Community School and really enjoying it Some of the perpheral things we are not enjoying but I won’t go to that at this time I have waited a long time for a ladies weight lifting class and I hope this continues at least long enough for me to learn to use the bench press we have at home more effectively I have never been the least bit terested in aerobics exercising jogging running or sports but I do enjoy resistance type activities It is scary at first when you fluff up (so far I have gained 10 lbs and ches) but that is supposed to mellow out after a few weeks of work outs and then the weight may not all go away (muscle is heavier than fat) but the ches should And it certainly will be nice to have everything back where it should be instead of hanging out all over the place By Jay Price It has been one hard lesson for me to learn for something as small as envying someone with such a distasteful reputation Finally I had to be honest with myself and realize my responsibilities to myself let alone my family and friends These experiences have and me to understand brought realize that I have got to start making a future for myself and family and strive to make a respectable place for my family and myself in society When I was introduced to the I to Prison program Alternatives found that it was a very good way to open myself up release tensions and handle situations in a totally different positive and perspective way Being involved in an open group discussion helped me to bring out a deep dark corner of my life that I knew was there but I never - ter I had made a partial reputation for envied myself at this point and other tough hard acquaintances with reputations that I wanted to have at any cost wanted to be known and be like them At that age I didn’t really realize the cost of being influenced by others After so I many years of being influenced began influencing others When I was through doing my time at the State Youth Development Center until now and being the age of 23 I have finally come to the knew how to deal with it Now that I have become involved with the program I feel more positive about Community Calendar LOOK AT THESE! Nov ear” As age comes on a crease appears in each ear lobe Look at your friends ears They may think you a little strange as you look at them and say hello to their ears instead of to their eyes If there is a crease a line or a double line like a cross you can be sure they have counted quite a few birthdays Ears are placed strategically to hold glasses What if they were higher or lower on the head? We would have been in real trouble They are perfectly placed If you have an ear ache or a heartache lying on your back the healing tears run to your ears and wash away the problems Not only do ears complement and give perspective to the head but are perfect for adorning one with jewels In some countries they make holes through the nose and put a ring Some countries India for through one the women wear jewels on their noses and foreheads Not so here we make a hole in the ear lobe for jewels and decoration If you are fortunate you will have a special kind of ear an ear for music It is a great plan ears they really improve the look of the head and hearing is a miracle If you could take the head out and put the two ears together you would have a heart '82 Conferences $7795 RELIANT 399 NOW '83 398 Loaded $5595 COUGAR White Loaded NOW $8695 ESCORT WAGON 374 NOW Brown $5195 tpiminT V jsr Rancher Cafe 171 15 Delta 464 West Main Delta -
