Show Page 4 Millard County Chronicle Progress February 25 iqqt COMMUNITY EVENTS iT i JtJ Elder Sister Tiffanie Hunt Hunt to serve mission Sfouf fo wed Holdaway Natalie Stout daughter of Rose Ann Wright of Lehi will marry Michael Holdaway son of Earl and Margaret Holdaway of Orem on Saturday February 27 1993 Friends are invited to attend a reception in their honor that evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Elks Lodge in Provo The groom is an owner of Maple Lanes in Orem and is also managing Plaza Lanes in Della The bride attended Pleasant Grove High School and is also employed at Plaza Lanes The maid of honor will be Margie Thomas Bridal attendants are Shanclle Zimmerman and Courtney Skinner Best man will be Richard Harvey Groomsmen arc Ryan and Lcs Wright Some of our Delta Seniors had an enjoyable trip with Western Pleasure There were 39 pasTours on Feb sengers on our Deluxe Coach Those from the Delta area were our tour guides Karl and Eleanor Murray and Madge Brown Phyllis Wood Lapriel Morlcnscn Roa Maxfield Bob and Bessie Webb Keith and Camille Nielson and Vcm and Clara Nielson We spent our first night in Tonopah Nevada then on to Death Valley for another night w here we were treated to a barbecue cookoul Our last two nights were spent in Laughlin Nevada across the Colorado River from Bullhead City Arizona This is another little Las Ycgas which is growing rapidly Here we were entertained by Eddy Arnold and his band and also the comedian Jim Travis It was a fun lour We are still considering candidates I DESERETOASIS Gel well w ishes are sent to Phil (who at this writing) is in the Utah Valley Medical Center at Provo following surgery Congratulations to Ken and Jeanette Skecm on the birth of their baby daughter on Feb 14 at the Delta Medical Center Visiting at the LaVoy and Carolyn Erickson home over the weekend was Carolyn's father and wife Faye Howell of Oasis went to Fillmore to attend funeral services for Rachelle J Brinkerhoff who passed away Feb 12 She was the two month old daughter of Gene and Realaine r for our new Senior President so we’re unable to vote on this issue until Wed March 3 Those who attended the Seniors Valentine Party Sat Feb 13 reported having a lovely evening A very delightful program of dancing and singing was furnished by LeAnn Church and comCarol Wamick pany Her mother played honky tonk music on the piano The program was enthusiastically ceived and appreciated Thank LeAnn A pot luck dinner was served following the program and was enjoyed by all We would like to encourage more Seniors to come and join our group Y ou are missing out on some fun times Remember our regular luncheons on Tucs Wed and thurs Our birthday dinner is celebrated the 3rd Wednesday of each month Stephenson Brinkerhoff of Fillmore Services were held Feb 15 Eunice Black spent the past week in Sandy U lah at the home of her daughter and husband Dclene and Doug Jackson Layne and Laurel Eliason spent Thursday in Provo visiting their father Phil Eliason in the hospital this week go to Congratulations Arnold and Christina Damron who celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Feb 17 Wc wish them many more years of happy married life They are the parents of a son Garold Damron who lives in Salt Lake City SREGIAEISTS These Fillmore medical Medical Center and are available al Delta Community specialists Medical Center Call the number listed for an appointment Community Sister Tiffanie Hunt daughter of Darwin and Kathryn Hunt has been called to serve in the Australia Adelaide Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Her farewell will be held Sunday February 28 in the Fillmore 1st and 4th Ward Chapel at 10:50 a m Tiffanie will enter the MTC on March 17 Protect your pet from rabies The annual Utah Veterinary Medical Association rabies vaccination clinics will be held on Saturday Feb 27 at locations throughout Utah The $6 vaccinations will be administered by members of the UVMA For safety reasons dogs should be brought on leashes and cats in an animal container The animals should be at least three months of age Utah law requires that a rabies vaccination be administered by a licensed veterinarian before a dog or cat can be licensed For the lime and location of the vaccination clinic in your local animal control department or veterinarian An accessible record of a pet's current and correct immunization will prevent the unnecessary treatment of a person who is bitten It will also prevent the death of the biting animal Last year 573 dogs and cats were destroyed and tested for rabies by the Division of Laboratory Services because the animals were not vaccinated In Utah most infected animals are bats but skunks are also reported Any mammal can catch the virus Nationally 6975 cases of animal rabies and three human rabies cases were reported in 1991 Of the animal cases 91 percent were in wild animals and percent in domestic species During 1991 cats were the most commonly reported rabid domestic animal -
