the star baseball team Teams from all over Nevada participated in the tournament Courtney's team came in 2nd and they will now compete in the National Competitions held in Reno this weekend Courtney's family and grandparents enjoyed seeing the games and seeing Courtney play so well even a home run It was a fun experience for all Seems this is the season for family reunions The past few weeks have seen many and still to be reported are: Jim and Diane Talbot and children attended an immediate family get together in Hinckley on July 12 and then on July 19 a larger group of Talbots met in Oak City Laura Beckstrand told of a large gathering of the Davies' in Orem She is so gracious and manages to attend nearly all reunions Though she wasn’t able to go Joan Stott’s brothers and sister Thad Thell and Beth along with their partners joined in the activities of the Leonard Robins Family Reunion Clifford Stewart is back from Calil and is spending time with the children in his own home before going back with Joan Everyone loves him so much they practically fight over who can have him with them Keith Sargent has also been at the Stott home for the The George Sampson family reunion was held in Delta on Saturday July 19 all members of the family were in tendance 80 members attended It was held at the White Sage Recreation area and at the home of Keith and Donna Ross Dinner was enjoyed by the group and some fun visiting was enjoyed also Mr Gordon Barben of St George visited in Delta with his parents Archie and Eddys Barben on Monday Duane and Ruby Bishop and daughters Judy and Jean and grandson Lance drove to Cedar City July 11 where they were joined by daughter Debbie from Lompoc CA for a visit with Duane's brother Merlin and his wife June They all enjoyed Cedar Breaks Panguitch Lake Bryce Canyon Zion Canyon and the north rim of the Grand Canyon while they were together Mrs Grant Western (Lucille Billings) of Salt Lake visited in Delta last week with friends and family Mrs Wayne Crabb (Linda Kay Barben) and family Steven Jerry Michael and Brian all of Portland OR visited in Delta during the weekend with parents Mrs Archie Barben r family members met at the Barben home on Saturday for dinner and visiting together The Crabb they just family were on vacation returned from a week in California and Nevada They enjoyed a frip to Knotts Berry Farm Las Disneyland Vegas and interesting places along the way They all enjoyed the get together in Delta and returned to their home in Portland Saturday evening It is good to have Mrs Deona Black home from the hospital again Keep Max Soelberg drove up into Idaho and on to the Bear Lake region They met with Carl and Don Borup and wives of Tremonton and attended sessions at the Logan Temple A special dinner rounded out the evening Gilbert came home refreshed and happy and was made more so when he received the news that his daughter Elane was home from the hospital and doing great Last Sunday I was pleased to attend the State Eagle Court of Honor where my great grand nephew Jason Talbot received his Eagle award This is such an important step forward for a young man and they should be sincerely congratulated Jason is also Gilbert’s great grandson That happy look on Leo’s face means Liz and the children are back from their stay in Calif More happy times are in the home of Harold and Belva Stewart Frances and Junior O'Neil and family have been here several days Good to see Belva feeling better She’s a special lady! Jeffrey Lynette and little Aaron Labrum cheered up things at Betty and As have said before DeLynn’s grandchildren sure add the spice to life! Across the street from me I see this in action as the Jay Starkey's have fun with their daughter Tamie her husband Ron and children They have been here for several days and the kids enjoyed our 24th of July celebration in the park And what a celebration it was parade program even a frog jumping contest (though I’m not sure all the frogs survived!) and good food There was a big crowd present We even had a visit from the “Oak Ridge Boys” and “Dolly Parton!” There were many visitors some of whom performed on our program Odell and Flora Stewart’s granddaughter Torrie did a lovely ballet number Alma Rhodes’ granddaughter Brenda performed an impressive Music Box Ballet and those great guest Cloggers were the granddaughters of Lola Bushnell Our own local talent did an outstanding job of entertaining us All in all quite a festive evening My Lori from Murray came daughter down to join me for the fun and then on Friday we drove to Pine Valley for the day Tough she missed the 24th Roma Bird’s daughter Ferris is here for the weekend Guess I’d better not say what they will be celebrating!
