Purcell display their 6 strand braided rug a unique way of brading These will be on display at the Heritage Festival GLADYS Six County Heritage Festival Coming KANOSH The Six County Area Older Americans Heritage Festival will be presented for the second year since the success of last year’s festival brought on an overwhelming response to have it held again This year the old gym of Snow College in Ephraim will host the event which will take place Friday March 20 1987 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm There will be booth displays of Arts Crafts Sewing and Antiques Along with that will be plenty of entertainment which will help keep everyone entertained This will be approximately 15 minutes long every 5 minutes Some numbers featured will be Old Time Singing by Fillmore’s Clem Utley by the Fairview piano selections seniors dancing by the Salina seniors a kitchen band by the Redmond seniors and many more interesting numbers The purpose of this Heritage Festival is to show the Ilena was so surprised and happy to have her cousin Wade Stark of Provo come for this Roy and Gloria’s special occasion daughter Maria her husband and darling baby came The groom’s sister Connie and husband Craig Stratton and two sweet children came from Hurricane another sister Laurel and husband Douglas Wilson and two little children of Cedar City were unable to attend because of illness Andy Tomkinson of Salt Lake City was best man His wife Sheryl was in charge of the guest book Connie Craig and Anna were overseeing the gifts which were many lovely and useful I probably left some names LDS Church by her father Acel Butcher stood with Acel during Dean Grandpa At fast meeting the confrimation Dean and Shirley were preMarch sent to witness the blessing of Acel and Vickie’s little daughter by her father who gave her a blessing and the name Trisha Kay Vickie’s sister DeAnn and little son Landon and brother Bradley The music of Peggy Melville Thornton daughter of Boyd and Judy Melville was the program enjoyed by members of the East Millard Fine Arts Guild on March 5 1987 Overcoming a lifetime of serious physical handicaps Peggy has found time to write perform and enjoy music both for her own enjoyment and for countless numbers she has entertained The mother of seven children she has been an inspiration to all who know her Peggy was introduced by her mother Judy who narrated the story of her life as she introduced and gave numbers a background for the various used on the program The music was presented by Sarena and Terri sisters of Peggy assisted by Sarena’s children and in duet with Lisa Crosland A double mixed quartet sang the closing number followed by some impromptu numbers requested by the audience from the composer Peggy as she played her guitar the families Ruth Allen had and enjoyed a house full of company this past weekend Mrs Royal (Clarice) Hurd and children came February 27 along with the latter’s Leslie Hurd and two little sons Leslie’s husband Rodney is in the military out of the US at the present Royal had commitments for Sunday so he returned to their home in Orem Saturday evening On Sunday the Hurd’s daughter Julie and her husband Michael Goodman and baby stopped in for a visit All the family returned home Sunday evening Mrs Michael (Delinda) Eddison were here with her parents Anthony and Diana Fuller and children over the weekend They live in Cedar City where Michael attends SUSC Mrs Brent Mace came from Cedar City February 26 and took his mother Ulala Mace to Logan to see the newest addition to their family little Steven John Mace born to their son Peter and Tess Mace February 24 in Logan The little fellow has a brother Daniel Peter The next day Brent Myrna and Ulala went to the Salt Lake airport to see their son Paul off for a stint in the Air Force He just recently returned from an LDS mission The Maces spent Saturday with their daughter Melinda and her husband They returned to Flowell Saturday evening after a wonderful visit with their family and their especially seeing darling grandson and great grandson Virgie Ivie had a delightful day February 28 going to Leamington to - il Pioneer Market 174 S 100 Tennessee We are happy over the report received by Virginia Hatton that Lorin Hatton is doing very nicely following his hip replacement which took place He has therapy each in California week and the services of a good nurse who comes in often Lorin is with his Yvonne Eustacy and husdaughter CA so is band Roger in Oakland receiving lots of tender loving care He knows what long stays in the hospital are all about having had a knee replacement after his wife Yolanda passed away Then he had the misfortune of falling at his sister’s Nada home here in Kanosh and breaking a hip When he was about ready to be released the pin came out and the surgery had to be done all over again— and now this But I’m sure his doctors and nurses have never attended a more patient pleasant Kanosh sends their best wishes to you Lorin Carl and Lueda Blad have just returned trom a two week trip through Montana and Washington Oregon Idaho The purpose of the trip was to attend the Regional and State wrestling tournaments of Washington in which they had a grandson wrestling Dale won the regional tournament with ease and was able to place third in the state meet He had won the State Championship two years in a row He had also won 74 straight matches without a defeat prior Carl to his loss in the state and Lueda are proud of their grandson and his accomplishments Their children didn’t let Lueda forget In Enumclaw her birthday Washington their son DeVon and wife Pauline and son Dale Lynn and wife Denine honored her with a party consisting of a program birthday cake and gifts She was further honored by another son Merlin and wife Lois in Pocatello Idaho with Family Night cake and gifts Back to Kanosh Lueda's sisters and on niece came to help celebrate February 27 where they enjoyed a delicious dinner together with much visiting and more gifts were received On February 28 a daughter Renda Christensen husband Ray son Kent Blad and wife Ann another son Phil wife Sharon and family also Lueda’s brother Blaine Allan and wife Eva join- - tend the Golden wedding Anniversary celebration fro Lawrence and Laura Bradfield at the LDS Cultural Hall Their children honored their parents with this lovely affair and the tributes paid them Virgie’s brother Clayton Williams of Nephi and Lucille Overson of Lynndyl were there as was Grace Williams Bennett former Leamington resident and her husband Clifford coming frm Tooele Saw Dora former Scipio resident and members of her family Also Jean Bradfield Robison formerly of Fillmore and her husband Floyd were there I stopped in
