They plan to stay till March. Mrs. Nielson Dark traveled to bus to Portland, Oregon to help her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G. (Julie) Bently celebrate her birthday. She visited a niece Joyce, also an uncle of Nielson's, Arnold H. Nielson, who lives In Portland. Mr. and Mrs. L. Nielson Clark celebrated Niel's birthday Saturday Feb. 11 by entertaining his sisters i,nd families. Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. (Edrea) Searles, their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Denise) Kungee and tiny son Hal, Miss Sandra San-dra Searles, Mr. and Mrs. G. Phillip (Geraldine) Condie and four daugh ters and son.Mr. and Mrs. Dayton (Denise) Palmer and daughter Sherrie, Mrs. DeVon Peterson and children Hollie and Mark. They all enjoyed a birthday dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Clark and dau ghter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Kirstin) Jenkins sent regrets because Larry is doing electrical work on the Stake House in Granger. Larry is employed as electrician at Litton Ind. in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Stanford (Grace) Brown had son Charles Ladd home over the weekend. They celebrated Stan's birthday which is really Feb. 13th. Grace says her mom, Mrs. Norma Wright Is spending her vaca tion in Oakland. Sunday evening in our ward was Cub Scout night. A lovely program was enjoyed by all. Mr. Arjaan Dekker made several awards. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moody, J. Ward and Dean Tommy Hales, Bunny Thomas Becky Moody, Von Moody, narrated by Mr. Aldredge, Gary Churcr Garth Lake all took part. A group surprised Nielson Clark after church Sunday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. De Van Peterson, Mrs. Leland Sanderson, Sander-son, Bp. and Mrs. Lem Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. R. Cleo Whicker. Scads of popcorn candy, cake, rootbeex floats and cookies were eaten. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ashby had daughters Geri and Jean home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Duane (Dora) Peter son, a nephew of Salt Lake, visited the Carl Ashbys Sunday afternoon. Mr. Alfred Lake was released from West Millard Hospital Sunday He thanks all who sent cards and helped them while he was there. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Billings enjoyed en-joyed a visit with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin L. (Lillean) Brady of Fair View, Utah. Also Mr. and Mrs. Terah Billings and George Billings were here to help celebrate a birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Lathel Callister report re-port son Neuman has graduated from Radio Mechanics In Ft. Knox Kentucky and Is now assigned to Germany. They received a phone call from Kent who has still two weeks training in Medics at Sam Houston, Texas. A phone call from daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F.G. Mr. and Mrs. Lin-don Lin-don Callister are now In Logan where Lindon is doing graduate work at Utah State. U. Mrs. Beryl Bennion Is still in West Millard Hospital. We wish her quick recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bunker were in Salt Lake over the weekend where they visited son Howard Ed ward Bunker also Vola's mom, Mrs. Rose Knight. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Whicker were In Provo to visit Marva Saturday. Little Lori Jarvis had a hospital stay during the week. We are glad she is able to be home and at' school again. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Spor met their son, Spec 4 Bernard Ray Spor at the Salt Lake Airport. He has been honorably released after serving in Germany as Army Electronic Specialist Spec-ialist for two years. .He operated and maintained the Micro Wave station. They drove on to Ogden to visit their daughter, Kay who is employed with the internal Revenue. Reve-nue. They returned to Delta and Bernard will visit here awhile before be-fore leaving for employment in his field. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Hales have been enjoying their son PFC George Hales who is home on leave he has been in Fort Eustis Virginia in the Railroad Dept. of the Army, training train-ing as a brakeman. He will report to Fort Dix, New Jersey on Feb. 16 to be reassigned to Nancy, France. Mr. Ed Bunker and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Varley (Lottie) Dutson and their daughter Cathrine came to visit daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Par-ley (Madge) Hales and have a special dinner in honor of George on Sunday, Feb. 5th. Second Ward Hews - EDDYS BARBEN Miss Judy Callister spent two days in Delta with her family this week. Judy is a registered nurse at the new University Hospital in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Twitchell spent some time in Salt Lake last week. They watched the baby of Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Ardath) Harlo while the Harlo's made a trip to Mass. to investigate in-vestigate a new job that has been offered to Mr. Harlo. Thursday they went thru the Salt Lake Temple with Mr. and Mrs. Noel Twitchell to have their baby daughter Amanda Aman-da sealed to them. They visited Mrs Zephyr Steele at the rest home and report that she is having a miserable miser-able and painful bout with arthritis at this time. They visied Chlora's brother, Arthur Steele at the LDS Hospital where he is recovering from surgery. Then they visited the Gayle Searle family at Keams. Pres. and Mrs. June Black spent Saturday in Prove with the Douglas Robison family and helped celebrate cele-brate a granddaughter's birthday. Sunday they visited in Ogden with the Ladd Black family. They also attended the Ben Lomond Stake Conference at Ogden. Danny and Micheal, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black participated in the youth chorus. The chorus was about 300 voices, the largest youth singing group the visiting authority had ever witnessed. The Blacks also attended at-tended the birthday celebration of another granddaughter in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bunker went to Weber State College Friday night for a basketball game and to watch their daughter, Beverly, march 'n the precision marching group, Cha-tonelles. Cha-tonelles. The Chatonelles is a group of sixteen coeds, any of whom can be challenged for her position each week. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Losee made a trip into Salt Lake last Wednesday to attend Valley Music Hall. The Utah State University presented a variety program with outstanding talent from that school. Their son Paul played in the Scotchman Orch estra and they played the background back-ground music for a lot of the special spec-ial numbers and also performed alone. Mrs. Ida Finlinson celebrated her birthday Sunday evening at a family fam-ily party. Mrs. Finlinson is celebrating celebrat-ing her birthday Tuesday offically. She and a sister, Mrs. Bert Roper are valentines as they have birthdays birth-days together Feb. 14th. All her immediate family attended. Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson; Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Sorenson, Delta; Mr. and Mrs. Orin Finlinson, Payson; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nielson, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson of Kanosh were in attendence. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Taylor of Clear field visited over the weekend with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Nielson and children were visitors this weekend of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Milan Jacobson. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker attended at-tended a party with the Jolly Stitch ers. LeRoy was Master of Ceremon ies Saturday evening. Sunday morning mor-ning he had a vir-s infection in his throat so is bein confined to his home. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Orin Allred attended a co-op convention in Las Vegas last week. They drove to Salt Lake then flew by jet plane. They report having had a lovely trip. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson went to Salt Lake Tuesday where Willis has been having medical attention. We wish him a speedy recovery. Mrs. Margaret W. Roper, Betty Jane and Ruth Anna Morris drove to Provo on business Wednesday. They also visited a brother, Paul Walker and family at Springville. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Morrey of Joseph visited their sister, Macel Anderson Friday and Saturday. Mrs. Ethelyn Bennett returned to her home in Holden after visiting two weeks with her brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson and attend-ede attend-ede the funeral of another brother, Ellis Anderson and visited the family fam-ily of Ellis Anderson. Miss Judy Finlinson and a friend visited at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Anderson Jr. visited in Oak City Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot visited in Kearns with their son, Arnold and wife and in Ogden and Salt Lake with Cloyd's sisters, Myrtle and Arby. Richard and Ludean spent the weekend in Oak City tak ing care of the home front while Cloyd and Emma were away. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Christensen entertained the young marrieds group at a party Saturday evening. A large group attended and had an enjoyable time playing games. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morris and family of Hinckley and Mr. and Mrs Albert Skidmore of Delta visited Mrs. Margaret Roper. Margaret cele braled her birthday during the week. Many friends and relatives called during the day to wish her well. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Christenesen visited in Manti last week with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Nielson. Mrs. Don Anderson visited her daughter Bernice in Kearns and Maurine and Glenn Willison of Springville and her son Floyd and family of Orem. Mr. Thomas K. Pratt visited the schools in Bicknell Tuesday. The Scouts received their charters chart-ers Tuesday evening at MIA. Mr. Gayle Farnsworth of Delta and the Scout Council presented the Charter. Chart-er. The Scout Week was ended by a lovely program at the Sacrament Meeting. The Civil Defense class will be held Wednesday evening at the school house. The Finlinson family attended the Temple Tuesday as a special sessin to do some sealing. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Taylor spent Monday in Salt Lake on busi ness. A11IIA1IAM MRS. AFTON FULLMEP Sunday we enjoyed a nice visit from Mrs. Robert Fullmer and daug hter Edna and fiance of Payson. Dick and Marie Talbot's new baby has been quite ill, but is some better now. In fact there are lots of colds around. Two of our towns young fathers Verl Tolbert and Dick Talbot blessed bless-ed their new babies last Sunday in the Sutherland Church. Dick and Marie's is a little boy and Verl and Judy have a little girl. Mrs. Gladys Tolbert has been making a beautiful quilt for the little new baby of Tom and Wanda Lee Tolbert Anderson of St. George Gladys has been down helping Wanda Lee care for the wee one. This makes five grandchildren for Shermon and Gladys, three girls and two boys. ' Keith Fullmer, son of Ladd and Dorothy Fullmer of Crested Butte, Colo., and Rodney Fullmer both have their 18th birthdays and they both graduate from high school this spring. Oh I wish this war could end as soon as possible. That truce didn't last did it? Little Miss Cherry Corbett had her little friends in for a birthday party Saturday. Neil and Jackie Corbett Sampson and two little boys, Robert and Steven of Las Vegas, visited from Wednesday till Sunday with the Chester Corbetts and Mrs. Sampson in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hampton (our old neighbors) of American Fork are sure happy to have their two boys home after their stint in the army, one in Germany and the other in Viet Nam. Walter and Lola Stoneking are at present in Salt Lake checking with Lola's doctor and also visiting Charles and Helen Marie Thayer an baby and Carl Stoneking and family. Mrs. Erma Petresen has been tending Arnold Petersen's two youngest children while Elaine and Arnold are in Ariz. .They left their other two children in Salt Lake. The Ray Hoelzles are enjoying a lovely new colored television they got last weekend. The kids are all busy getting ready for Valentines Day. (Do you remember what a lot of fun you had when you were that age?) It doesn't take much to make little ones happy does it?
