Show Golden Wedding Is Celebrated Many friends attended the program pro-gram and dance on Saturday night, May 15, that marked the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Stapley. A program was given at 8 p. m., in the Delta high school auditorium, in which the members of the family took part, both children and grandchildren. grandchild-ren. Piano selections, readings, songs and a dance by the grandchildren, grand-children, were given. Mr. and Mrs. Stapley have ten children and 30 grandchildren, all of whom were home for the celebration except 2 grandchildren, Keene Maxfield, in Idaho, and Blair Maxfield, in the British mission field. Following the program there was dancing in the gymnasium, -from 9 to 12, with several old-time square dances included. Mr. and Mrs. Stapley led the grand march of members of the family, excepting except-ing those younger children who had been put to bed. Refreshments were served dur' ing the evening. A wedding cake of five tiers, topped with a miniature minia-ture bride and groom and the golden gold-en figures "50", formed the centerpiece center-piece of the serving table, decor-i decor-i ated with spring flowers. Coming from out-of-town for the party were their children from Cedar Ced-ar City, Logan, Sandy and Torrey, their niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Little, from Pasadena, California, Mrs. Stapley's sister, Mrs. Frank Anderson, from Pintura, her two brothers and families, Mr. and Mrs. Ren Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Williams, from Kanarra, Mrs. Lynndahl, from Sandy, and Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Knight, from Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Stapley have made I their home in Delta for the past j 40 years, and received the best wishes and congratulations from a large circle of friends on this happy hap-py occasion. |
