SHIPLEY - At our Sacrament meeting Sunday Sun-day two Aaronic Priesthood boys gave talks. They were Kevin Anderson And-erson and Michael Scott Nielson. Fred Anderson and Jack Sivewright a new convert member of our ward also gave talks. It was very well attended and enjoyable service. Mr. Arnold Talbot and Miss Leslie Les-lie Carroll spent the weekend with Arnold's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. Arnold is attending Weber State College at Ogden. He is happy to have the privilege of being a member of the mixed chorus, chor-us, also the male ch&rus, under the leadership of Mr. Ladd Cropper well remembered leader of choir and choruses in Deseret Stake. Mrs. Mary E. Anderson had her daughter Ruth Olson and some of her children of Idaho, also, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Roger McOrnie and little son and hex granddaughter Miss Karen Olson Ol-son from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Alta Alldredge of Delta and Mrs. Eldon Cahoon and daughter Connie and Becky of Las Vegas Visited Vis-ited with Cloyd and Emma Talbot Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Dutson and little son of Salt Lake and Betty Lou from Cedar City were at the Burton Lovell home a few days. At the Leo Finlinson home visiting vis-iting were Mrs. Julia Bliss and children and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Arnold. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Alldredge and children and Mr. and Mrs. Lew Alldredge All-dredge of Las Vegas spent a couple cou-ple of days hunting and visiting in Oak City. Also Darla and Kent Staley and children of Salt Lake. Especially at their parents home, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Alldredge. Mr." and Mrs. Phil Broadbury and children spent most of the week here from Brigham City. Mr. William Jacobson had Lloyd and Enla Olson and children of Brigham City visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shipley and little daughter, also Mr. Dan Wheeler Whee-ler of Bountiful were at the Ivan Shipley home a few days hunting and visiting. Mrs. Colleen Anderson and children child-ren enjoyed a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson had their son Ronald Anderson and family fa-mily visiting the past week from California. Also Monan Lovell and family and daughter Arlene and' Boyd and Rosalee Call and children visited. Cecil Jacobson and sister Delia spent a couple of days with father, Thurlow Jacobson. Miss Claudia Jacobson was home She is teaching school at Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Dewsnup, Russell Rus-sell and DeAnn 6f Coalville were at the Grant Finlinson home a few days for hunting and visiting. Edith and Ted Stuart visited a few days with the'r sister, Vernell Dutson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper spent last week at Brigham City and Clearfield visiting their son Devon, daughters Leola, Ruby, Mina and Wanetta and families. Wilford and Bessie Sheriff had (yucjawille Tlews VENICE DAVIS Jack Clark of Bountiful visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Clark and took in the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Hansen and three daughters visited Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alden Shurtz and family fa-mily over the weekend and took in the deer hunt. Here from Las Vegas were Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Wright and girls Vickl, Sherlene and JoAnn and Jay Stone from Salt Lake to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlon Stone. They were joined Saturday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Rex Stone and Elva's mother, Mrs. Sarah McCul- Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Olson and children, also Mr. and Mrs. Larry Densley and children and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sheriff as guests. All the men hunted while their wives visited. There were many hunters over the weekend, too numerous to men tion. Most all the men from Oak City were in the canyon from Wednesday Wed-nesday until Saturday night. Haven't Ha-ven't heard how many deer were shot or how big yet. Another week will tell. And some gone again Monday to try their luck again. Maybe tell you all about it next week. Mrs. Viola Walker is a member of the Old Mill Camp of the DUP from Fillmore and last week they held their monthly meeting at Viola's Vi-ola's home here in Oak City. Nice to know some of the towns are hav ing the DUP meetings each month. Such an outstanding meeting in honor of the pioneer women of U-tah. U-tah. Sorry to report the freeze finally had to come and spoil the gardens and some of the pretty flowers. Hope you all have rode up to the Dutson homes and seen Lemira's and Thelma's beautiful flowers and gardens and the Dutsons have kept their sidewalks so nice. Then there was the beautiful flower garden at the Twiss Nielson home and many more. We wish to congratulate all who have tried to beautify our lovely little town this past summer. The Primary class of Helen Anderson And-erson and Vernal Dutson, The Top Pilots and Co-Pilots received their wings and compasses Sunday after- neen. 23 children took part and parents, teachers and Primary officers of-ficers were entertained. Refresh ments were served. A neighbor called at the home of Mrs. Mary E. Anderson and found her in her yard cutting her corn fodder down. She is only 83 years old! Young folks, take notice. Get her recipe for the Fountain of Youth. Maybe try her exercise, sure keeps her young and going. Mr. and Mrs. DeLynn Nielson were in Oak City for a few days. CHECK THESE FACTS: FISCAL POLICY .... LaHay Greene of Salt Lake came down for a visit with his mother, Lois Greene and took in the deer hunt. Virginia Done is home over the weekend and took in the deer hunt with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Done. Mr. and Mrs. David Jacobs of Tor-rence, Tor-rence, Calif, came up for the deer hunt and a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pace and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis, Henrietta and Marie Barben and Tressa Jen-son Jen-son made a trip to Salt Lake Monday Mon-day and returned on Wednesday. Leo went up for a medical checkup to the Veterans Hospital, the others oth-ers for a visit. Lavern Terry had the misfortune of getting stung by a bee Friday evening and was rushed to the doc tor and was in critical condition. She was in the hospital for a few days and is now home on the improve. im-prove. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clark of California Cali-fornia were here for the deer hunt and a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruf us Clark. They returned return-ed home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Terry and small daughter of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Terry and family of Ely, Mr. and Mrs. Manley Abbott and family of Clearfield and Mr. and Mrs. Devon Roper and family of Brigham City all came for a visit with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Terry and Robert and some took in the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hill of Ely and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hill from California visited with sister and family Norma and Harry Meinhardt ana Mr. ana Mr. Art Hill. They also came for the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith and family of Dugway visited over the weekend. Sunday nieht the rjroeram was given by the bishopric with LeAur Shields conducting. Talks were given gi-ven by Elva Stone and Alden Shurtz. A song by Vicki Jensen accompanied ac-companied by Judy Jensen. Correlation Correl-ation meeting was held afterwards Tuesday was work meeting in Relief Society with LaRene Davis and Linda Booths entertaining-. 12 ladies attended. Esther Peterson of the Stake Relief Society visited our ward. f, eamaiQion 0 WANDA NIELSON Mr. and Mrs. Ormus Dutson were visitors in our ward last Sunday morning and evening. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Stone and family fam-ily of Lehi were visiting with Nila's parents and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Finlinson and family of Bountiful were weekend viisitors of Mr. and Mrs. Welby Finlinson. Fin-linson. They also got their deer. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Grygla and Glen Ray Grygla and Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn (Maurine) Clemments and family visited with their mother, Mrs. Clara Johnson over the week end. I attended a wpddiri(y ronpntinn for a girl friend of Inez's in Lake Shore last Friday evening. . Mrs. Eva Dutson and Mrs. Barbara Bar-bara Nielson were in Logan last week attending leadership training under the extension service of USU. Claudine, Inez, Gayl, Wade father and I went up to Pole Canyon last Saturday to see where the men were hunting deer.. Such a rough place to get to, but it didn't keep the guys away. The cars were really real-ly packed and everyone seemed to have got their deer but Bud and Roger they just couldn't see any. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson and family are hunting deer in Fool Creek Canyon. Ray had to go back but Millie and boys are still hunting. hunt-ing. Sounds like fun. Mr. Max Nielson was down Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday hunting deer. Please call in your news before mail time Monday's as it sometimes some-times doesn't get in in time when I mail it Tuesday. Mrs. Hope Bluemel of American Fork visited over Monday and Tuesday. They went to Castle Dale to look for rock. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sherwood and family of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Bradfield and boys of Sandy were down over the weekend. The men went hunting and the women visited Mr. Sherwood (Reed's father) fath-er) who Is very sick in the Nephi hospital. Mrs. Jene Bradfield was in Fillmore Fill-more Saturday and Sunday visiting with her brother and settling some family affairs. Floyd Bradfield and sons Victor Danny and Tommy saw two cougars coug-ars while hunting across the river Monday. Mr. and Mrs. George Berryman, son Tommy and friend Ronald of Murray visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. June Black. Mrs. Berryman is Thelma's sister. ' YOU MUST .
