Show SUTHERLAND ZELDA OGDEN Mr. and Mrs. Mike Warnick and children ol Richfield visited their parents, the Mike Mortensens. They were returning from a vacation trip thru Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mortensen recently re-cently made a trip to Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ivo Ogden and Roger Ro-ger took Dana Kay back to Provo to school Sunday. Mr and Mrs. Gary Dalton. and children of Circleville visited Mr. and Mrs. Cutler Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. David Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Henrie and Mr. and Mrs. Tillman Johnson. Cutler Henrie is able to be out again after his recent illnesa Marland Steele visited his folks, over the weekend and is now going in the service for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Robison and family of Richfield were here for their sister Hargo's wedding and to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Rose. Also here for the lovely reception Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Twitchell of Orem, Allen Rust and John Toone of Croyden and Ann Grlmshaw of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. John Wind are still in Provo visiting. Mr. Wallace Holman is now home and able to be out and around after af-ter his recent heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Holman and family fa-mily of Billings, Mont, are visiting the Wallace Holmans. They have been to Portland, Oregon to visit their daughter and came back this way to visit their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Walker went to Salt Lake to the graduation of their son-in-law, William Twitchell from Stevens Henegar, Business College. Col-lege. Mr. and Mrs. Pierson Miller of Greenfield, Indiana are visiting the Ferrell Walkers. They all left Wednesday Wed-nesday to go down thru the Southern South-ern Utah Canyons and into Las Vegas to see the sights. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Abbott of Magna visited parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elnathan Abbott. Mrs. Florence Spellman of Terre-ton, Terre-ton, Idaho brot her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Abbott home. Mrs. Abbott is now in the West Millard Mil-lard Hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. Abbott is feeling feel-ing much better. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Erickson have Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Church and two children spending the summer sum-mer with them. Coming to help their parents, Golden and Deun Erickson cele brate the'r wedding anniversary were Mr. and Mrs. Ervm Hatch and family of Kearns and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilsen and family of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Hatch went on to Cedar City to look over the pros pects of going to school this com ing year. The farmers are all busy cutting hay, burning stubbles, dragging stubble, putting hay in stacks, etc. The storm is very welcome. We feel guilty when we grumble about rain storms but we can say it would of helped if it had waited a few days Then here it is nearly the 4th of July and we still have to have the furnaces on to keep warm. One of these days I for one hope it warms up. Then as human nature goes we will be complaining of the heat I suppose. I promise not to complain com-plain until the third day. SECOND WARD AREA HEWS BRIEFS LUCILE KIMBER Lillie Wallace Gibson of Cbino, Calif, spent several days last week with William and Mary Bassett. She and Mary visited many of Lil-Ke's Lil-Ke's friends she knew when she lived here years ago. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wil- lard Stephenson is Claire's parents, , Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Luke. Renee Stephenson is home at present with her folks, the Willard Stephensons. She is planning to go to summer school. Eva Holt has returned from Chicago Chi-cago after a visit with her son Lee and family. She brot her granddaughter grand-daughter Patty back with her for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Edwards of Salt Lake divided their weekend visit between their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Black and Mr. and Mrs. Eb Stapley. Mr. and Mrs. Max Black of Salt Lake spent this last weekend with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Black. Connie Whicker, daughter of Wal lace and Loretta Whicker, returned from an extensive stay at Cedar City. She lived and attended some classes with Darla Terry and Jean-nie Jean-nie Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wh'cker Neil and Connie spent Farther's Day with Loretta's father at Kam-as. Kam-as. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dalley and children spent Sunday in Fillmore. They attended the 4th of July queen contest and visited with Margaret's folks. Mr. and Mrs. David Hofheins, Ir s and Sandra have been visiting with their son Alma and family the past ' two weeks in Portland, Oregon. Visit'ng the past week with Ab- bie Prestwich has been her daughter, daugh-ter, Beth Terry and family. Clarence Prestwich has been offered of-fered a teaching position at Randolph, Ran-dolph, Utah. He and his wife Karen spent some time there last week looking for a place to live. Mr. and Mrs. Gale Famsworth and children along with Gale's sister sis-ter Martha Ann paid a short visit with Norma's folks, the A. L. Kim-bers. Kim-bers. They were returning home after af-ter attending two one-week workshops work-shops one at USU and the other at the college at Reno, Nevada. Gordon and his wife Penny spent Faher's Day with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barbeii. Linda Barben is home from USU in Logan for the summer. It will be nice to have her around for a while. Sen. and Mrs. Wadd'ngham spent last weekend at Aspen, Colo. They attended the National Bar Ass'n Convention. Mrs. Zola Bunker looker look-er looked after their children and attended Sunday School and Sacrament Sac-rament meeting with them. It was nice seeing her. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Carton Anderson and their family back to Delta for the summer. Mrs. Anderson Ander-son is the former Elizabeth Moody. They are now living in the Grant Workman home, but they intend to attend the Second Ward for the shor while they will be here. A new family has moved into our town. They live in the Zerma Tripp home. They are Mr. and Mrs. Kim Cox. He is the new operator for the Union Pacific Railroad Co. We surely sure-ly welcome them into our midst and hope they find our community to their liking. Veda Robison and Beatrice Erickson Erick-son took their mother, Mrs. Millie Dewsnup to Salt Lake where she will undergo some surgery. We sure ly wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Twitchell accompanied ac-companied Ardyth and Fred Harlow to Lander, Wyo. where they visited with Elden and Flora Brown. Noel and his wife Royce spent Father's Day with his folks, Roy and Cholra Twitchell. Also visiting with the Twitchells last week was LuDean Searle. She came down to Delta with Ardyth and LaMar who has been in Honolulu for the past three years. LaMar left Wednesday for Hawnii where he is working. Captain David Seegmiller. his wife Jean and four children, visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Seegmiller for ten days. David teaches chemistry at the United States Air Force Academy at Colo rado Springs, Colo. He is attending a science workshop at the Univer sity of Utah. His wife Jean is now visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Max Key at Roosevelt. Thelma Seegmiller attended a music workshop at the BYU last week. Rose Sampson had two of her children home over the last weekend: week-end: Dean and Margaret Sampson of Las Vegas and Shlrle and Ula Mae Debanhan with their four child ren from Sacramento. Calif. Miss Cloene Miller of Sunnyside. Wash, spent the weekend with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ed win Miller. She is attending sum mer school at BYU. Miss Christine Sorenson was home visiting with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sorenson. She is working in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wankier and family spent Sunday in Levan with Lee's father, Mr. Arvil Wankier. Sunday, June 21st climaxed a week of family fun for the Lovell brothers and their families. The Ferrin Lovells entertained at a family fa-mily dinner and honored their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Lovell of Oak City. Others present were Ralph and Kay of Idaho Falls, Ida., Elwood and Alice of Monticello, Monan and Shirley of Sunset and Leoyd and Lelia of Delta. I was told that this group partied almost every evening. They held a sandhill sand-hill party and a picnic up Oak City Canyon. They had a wonderful get-together. get-together. All the Beehive giirls and Soy Scouts of our ward attended the Stake Early Morning Breakfast at Hinckley. John Crowley and his wife Melba Jean and four boys moved to Hinck ley this week. They haven't lived here long but we have learned to love this family very much. Our ward Sunday School held a short but very interesting Father's Day program: talk, "What My Father Fa-ther Means To Me," Betty Rae Wright; duet, "That Silver-Halred Daddy of Mine," Thelma and Ladd Black, accompan;ed 'by Lenore Mc-Call; Mc-Call; David Moody gave the duties of a father. Each father was presented pre-sented with a booklet of choice poems and verses, compiled by the boys of the Ward Primary Guild Patrol under the leadership of Ver-della Ver-della Adams and Ladd Black and the help of Carol and Gloria Adams. Ad-ams. The boys presented the booklet book-let to all the fathers of the ward. They were truely lovely. The Young Married Class of the MIA have planned a Luau Party for Saturday. This date has been changed to Monday, June 29. It will be held at the David Moody home. Please call Jan'ce for the details. All Young Marrieds are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. David Moody spent Sunday in Salt Lake visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Moody. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gordon of Murray spent Sunday with Jean's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Win- This is a glassful of snobbery You can't see it you can't smell it you can't taste it so we don't make it! VENICE DAVU Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis and Hen rietta and Marie Barben made a trip to Salt Lake Thursday and Leo entered the Veterans Hospital with ulcer trouble. He is now better and Mrs. Leo Davis and mother and sister sis-ter returned home on Saturday. The reception for Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Losee Saturday night was a lovely affair outdoors- in the trees. They received a large variety of field. Clair Baldwin came and took his wife and son back to Cedar City. He will be working there this summer. sum-mer. Carol was in Delta with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Van Bishop while Clair was at National Guard. What is so rare as a day in June, especially when we have to keep the furnace running to keep warm. gifts for their new home. Those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Losee and family, Mr. and Mrs.' Carl Oliver and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Perkins and family and several girl friends of Rosalyn's who were in the line. Christine Clark is home from the hospital after being in for two or three days. We hope she will soon recover and be herself again. Virginia Jensen of Salt Lake visited vis-ited over the weekend and Father's Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen and family. Sunday the Relief Society presented pre-sented the ward fathers with white carnation boutonnieres for Father's Day commemoration. Mr. and Mrs. Curt Shields were home for the weekend and attended attend-ed church with us. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lundgreen and family of Salt Lake visited Sunday with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davis on their way to Las Vegas and California for a two week's vacation. Sunday night the program was given for the Restoration of the Melchizadek Priesthood. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Townsend of Salt Lake visited over the weekend with their sisters and families, Choral Clark, Sharon Clark and Eleanor Ele-anor Roberts. Evan Jensen ana family from Phoenix, Ariz., visited over the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen and family.
