Show Oak City News MAE H. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson have their daughte Genevieve La-Fevre La-Fevre of Tropic and her children here for a while. Genevieve has been in the hospital ten days with an injured back. She will he with her parents while recuperating, which we hope will be a quick and complete recovery. The farewell party Saturday nite for Elder David Lovell was well attended. Program and dancing was enjoyed. He entered the mission mis-sion home in Salt Lake June 22. Well wishes and best of success, David while in the mission field. Owen Lovell had all his children home over the weekend for Father's Fath-er's Day: Elwood and family from Monticello, Ralph and family of I daho Falls, Monan and family of Clearfield and Ferrin and Leoyd and families of Delta. Mrs. Isabel Williams and children child-ren and Mrs. Julia Bliss and Mrs Maude Arnold were with their father, fa-ther, Leo Finlinson for Father's Day. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson and son Paul were visitors in Salt Lake last week. The Sunday night program was the Restoration of the Melchizadek Priesthood. Mr. Ellis Anderson, Mrs. Macel Anderson, Paul Anderson and Rachel Dutson gave very good talks. Paul sang a lovely solo, ac companied by Mrs. Shirley Roper. Many members and visitors enjoy ed this program conducted by Coun selor Calvin Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson had their children home over the Fath er's Day weekend: Mr. and Mrs. Monan Lovell and family of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Call, Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Mar ion Anderson and Miss Arlene And erson. Royce Lovell spent last week visiting with his grandparents in Oak City. Other visitors noticed were Mr. and Mrs. Francis Anderson and fa mily of Ely, Roland Dutson and family of Salt Lake, Mrs. Ada Jacob son and son Cecil of Provo, Mrs. Ruth Olsen, Miss Betty Lou Lovell, Miss Dixie Dutson and Mayvonne Dutson. Mr. Reece Finlinson left for sum " mer school Monday at the BYU. A Sheriff Reunion was held in the canyon Saturday, June 20 in memory of grandfather Whiteford Sheriff's 104th birthday. 69 descendants descen-dants were present. All eight of his children are living and were present. pre-sent. They are Etta Roper, Danny Nielson, Marvin Sheriff, Martin Sheriff, Jessie Roper, Guy, Clifford and Wilford Sheriff. A nice program and games and visiting was enjoyed. enjoy-ed. The Caddy Lovell family reunion was held in Oak City Canyon Saturday. Sat-urday. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lovell and family of Clinton, Mr. Clisbee Lovell and part of his family of Magna, Brent and Max Vaudrey, sons of Lydia Lovell and Kirt Vau drey, Wilma and family and Lem Lovell and family. Janet and Max Cox and two little sons visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson. They were on their way from a vacation to Grand Canyon. Mrs. Ruth Anderson was at the BYU last week. She returned and she and her husband Don left Thurs day for a vacation with daughter Maurine and family. Bishop Lyman Finlinson spent the past week at the U. of U. Mrs. Ava Anderson and children spent the past week visiting with her husband Christian at McGill, where he is employed. Mrs. Mae Shipley was very happily hap-pily surprised to have her grandson Evan Swensen and his wife Margaret Mar-garet of Alaska visit, the first visit since the earthquake. His mother, Betty Dodge and brother Dana came with them. They report a lucky escape from wrecked Alaska, and feels very lucky and blessed Hinckley SHARON S. WESTERN The mothers of the 11-yr. old girls were entertained at a Five-Star Five-Star Breakfast cooked by their daughters dau-ghters Thursday. It was held at their teacher's home, Mrs. Beth Brown. The ta'ble was beautifully set. Each mother received a rose. Mr. and Mrs. Wil-lard Wil-lard Hardy and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sorensen drove to Draper to visit them Sunday. John and Melba Jean (Swensen) Crowley have moved into Hinckley this last week. They bought the Calvin Skeem home. . Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Cropper had as their guests David and Arlene Clark and three girls of Milford. Mr. Clark has been transferred here with the A.T.&T. Co. and will be renting the Forrest ..Taylor home for the present. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Tay-lor have returned to Las Vegas for employment. Our Sacrament -meeting Sunday n'ght was very faith promoting. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Torrens and children spent the weekend at the Grant Finlinson home. Robert and little son spent part of the time with parents in Deseret. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Jacobson had their son Orlan and wife Carol of Ogden visit for Father's Day. Miss Christine Anderson vacation ed last week in Sunset with her cousins. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson and son LaMar spent last week visiting in California where LaMar was on his mission. 4-H NEWS Thursday, June 18 we had our meeting at 10:45 at the home of our leader, Jane Finlinson. We made salad dressing and cheese roll ups. They were very good. The meeting adjourned at 12:00. This week we held our meeting at Jane's on Monday. We made baking powder biscuits and 'banana log salad. The meeting adjourned at 12:40. Reporter, Gwen Christensen speakers were Golden Cluff, Carolyn Caro-lyn Randall, Donald Peterson and Janet Reeve. The choir sang a special spe-cial number, "How Great Thou Art". Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Western were weekend guests at the Alma Western West-ern home. On May 30th the T. A. Dennison family went to San Jose, Calif, for commencement exercises of Orthell from Santa Clara College. He received re-ceived his masters degree June 6. The graduation exercises were very interesting. On June 7th Or-thell's Or-thell's and Shyreen's new adopted baby boy was blessed and given a name. Mr. and Mrs. Dennison went to San Jose with their oldest Hnno-htor hop rnicVinnrl and hilri- ' Ten. Their youngest daughter Vilate was home from Weber College and she accompanied them to Califor nia. On June 5 the Dennison's next oldest daughter, her husband and family went down there also and Marion Dennison (in the Coast Guard) went with them. Marion is home on leave and is in the process of transferring from Brooklyn, New York to Astoria, Oregon. Contracts that were agreed upon two years ago between the company and union-represented employees are about to expire. Arriving at new agreements that are satisfactory satis-factory to all concerned is not an easy matter, mat-ter, mainly because of numbers. Employees at the mine, the concentrators, the smelter and the refinery are represented by 19 different dif-ferent union locals. Each local is a separate bargaining unit Kennecott negotiates with each unit individually. individ-ually. Accord between all 19 union locals and Kennecott must be reached to complete negotiations. There is no short cut to making mak-ing a bargain. All parties are giving careful thought to the issues, and the final result will reflect the best judgment of labor and management . Utahns follow the course of negotiations with personal concern, because the entire state has a substantial stake in the economic effect of uninterrupted copper production at Kennecott. Goppo? He is a new grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Brog Hopkins and is their second grandson. Mr. and Mrs. Brog Hopkins re ceived word last Monday that the tiny daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Winkel was to undergo surgery for a hernia" which was done Monday. Last Saturday was the Pectol reunion re-union held in Draper City Park and the ones who attended from Hinckley Hinck-ley were Randle Swensen and Mr. and Mrs. Dennison. Accompanying Mr. Swensen to the reunion was his oldest sister of Sterling who had been in Hinckley visiting with the two Swensen families, the He-ber He-ber Bishop family and the Denni-sons. Grant Workman and Richard were in Delta Saturday on business busi-ness and planted some new grass and shrubs aroud their home which they have rented.
