Bill Thomas is here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Thomas and Mr. and Zen Boothe and family and will take his family fam-ily home with him after their vis it here for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hill from Ely, Nevada are' here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meinhardt and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt. Doris Abbott has returned home from a visit to Kansas City, Mo. with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Mills, she says she's glad to be home. Mr. and Mrs. Manly Abbott and family from Ogden visited with her soon after her return, they left their two sons, Terry and Tony for a longer stay. Vance Abbott in his plane flew over the Abbott home Sunday morning and Doris met Vance and his family at the airport for a visit with hcv on Sunday and left Bobby, their little daughter for a longer visit. Sunday night the program was brought toy High Councilman, Gerald Ger-ald Lovell and Alma Harder, they gave very good talks and sister Lovell gave us a piano selection. We enjoyed the meeting very much and a good crowd attended. Stella Shurtz had a very narrow escape last Thursday when her home caught on fire and she was home alone. Trying to put out the fire, she was badly burne'd on her right arm and leg. She is on the Improve we hope for her a speedy recovery. Trip to Grand Canyon Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bennett, of Deseret, went to Richfield Thurs day, whe.e they joined their son, LaMont, and family, and went to the Grand Canyon. They returned Saturday night, and reported hav ing a fine trip. Their grandson, Stephen, returned home with them to spend a wee. MISS NOLEEN DUTSON, engaged to wed August. Mr. Obert is a graduate of Ingle- wood High School and has attend Mr. and Mrs. Oakland Dutson are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Noleen, to Charles Karl Obert, of Inglewood, Calif. The marriage will be solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Saturday, August 23. After dinner volley tall was played on the lawn at the Dillenbeck Dillen-beck home. Hugh Twitchell has returned to Delta from Salt Lake Ctiy, where he had surgery May 19 at the LDS hospital. On July 2 Mr. Twitchell received word of the death of sister, Mrs. Lois T. Colby, at Provo, and a short time later came to him of the death of a "brother-in-law, Charles Olsen, at Evanston, Wyo., and services at Manila. Mr. Twitchell Twit-chell is recovering well after his operation, but was unable to attend at-tend either service. We hope these girls have a wonderful time. We were happy to have Mr. and Mrs. Banks and their family with us to Sunday School and Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting last Sunday. They are from Cedar City but are sta-tioed sta-tioed for a few days in Oasis. Mr. Banks is employed by the Railroad Rail-road and they are living in a work car this summer. When the work train moves they move with It. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop went to Minersville reservoir on a fishing trip, last Friday. Saturday they went to Cedar City to visit heir children, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Bishop Bish-op and family for a few hours, then returned home that evening. Yes fishing was good. A week ago Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Seth Pixton and family from Salt Lake City visited with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Pratt. Mr. and Mrs. Win Murry from Fresno Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Hostetter and children, Sally and Kenny from Uba City Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Depeu and children Tommy and Jimmy from Los Altos Calif., are all visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. Hilding Sjostrom. They all attended attend-ed the Kelly reunion. The visitors from out of town returned Tuesday and Wednesday to their homes. Mrs. Lon Sampson has returned to Delta after a stay of a month In Kearns after five days in a Salt Lake hospital. She was with her daughter, Mrs. Merna Woodall. Miss Sandra Davis, of Detroit. Mich., Is visiting in Delta witth her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nor-man Gardner. It has been two and a half years since Sandra was here. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Snow, of Washington. D. C spent Monday and Tuesday in Delta visiting their brother and sister, Grant Snow, Mrs. Inez Moody, and families.
