Show Directors Elected Under New Plan James M. Sargent, president of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah, has announced that no meeting of the group will be held during October, but that previous to the meeting in Fillmore Fill-more on November 18, each county coun-ty will be asked' to elect one new director or re-elect the one whose term expires this year. At the November meeting the annual election of officers will be held and the executive board named. nam-ed. To expedite the election of the directors and assure each individual indivi-dual member of his just voice in the selections, a new plan has been adopted, according to President Presi-dent Sargent. The holdover director (directors are elected to serve two-year terms, or until their successors are chosen) and the presidents of civic clubs in the county will serve as a nominating committed. Whom these committees have named the candidates tVy will forward the names to the office at Richfield where ballots will be prepared and mailed to each member who is eligible to vote. To be entitled to a vote the member's dues must not be more than "0 days delinquent. delin-quent. The nominating committee will also decide whether or not the county is to be .divided into two sections for voting purposes. If it is dc-cided that the director to be elected' shall come from a certain cer-tain part of the county this year and the other part next year, only the members in that region will be sent ballots. The members will be requested to mark (the ballots and return them to the Richfield office for counting. The nominating committee com-mittee are requested to complete their work before October 14 and it is hoped to complete the election elec-tion of directors by November 4. |
