Show CHURCH AND CIVIC BODIES TO SPONSOR CHARITY BALL Event Will be Held at Arion Hall Monday; All Receipts to Go for the Benefit of Milford's Needy Families While the majority of Milford residents resi-dents are sheltered before warm fires, with plenty of eat and plenty of good warm clothes to protect them from the wintry chill, yet there are a few families who are not so fortunate. Many deserving families who through force of circumstances and unemployment unemploy-ment for many months, are in dh-e need of the necessities, even without the comfort of life; children who need warm clothes for their little bodies and nourishing food. When should an appeal to relieve such distress in our own community be more appropriate than at the glad Thanksgiving time when is there a better time to show your thankfulness or a better way than to contribute to such a cause. Milford, blessed in many ways; homes of prosperous and contented people ,is not going to see any suffering suffer-ing in its immediate vicinity this year. The church and civic organiza- tions, headed by Mayor Hubbell, will give a big Charity Ball on. Monday evening, November 30 ,when every person who can contribute dollars or merchandise are requested to do their bit. Tickets to the ball will be sold at one dollar and these tickets may now be obtained from any member of the various organizations of the town. Every cent realized from the affair will be used to help the needy through the winter. The ball is expected to be one of. the best of the season. There will be light Inches offered for sale. Donations Dona-tions from farmers and merchants which cannot be used in the welfare v,-ork,vill be raffled off at the dance. Through these various mediums of endeavor it is hoped to realize several sever-al hundred dollars. No person in Milford Mil-ford who has employment or a source of income should fail to purchase a ticket to the ball or contribute something some-thing towards its success. |
