Retired Shopman TakenBy Death Thomas Beard, 67, retired Union Pacific shop worker, died Sunday morning of a heart attack and funeral services are planned for Friday afternoon of this week, with interment to take place in the Milford cemetery. Father of six sons and a daughter, daugh-ter, it is expected that all will be present for the funeral, including their twin sons, Marion and Mer-ritt Mer-ritt Beard. Though the former is engaged in naval service in Atlantic At-lantic waters and Merritt is attached at-tached to a medical corps unit in Pacific army transport service, word of their father's death was communicated to them through the j efforts of the local and national : Red Cross and both are expected ' to be present for the services. Mr. Beard was a native of England Eng-land but has lived in Milford for many years. A more complete obituary will be given in next week's News.
