Show HEBER GILLINS PASSES AWAY IN MINERSViLLE I Heber Gillins, Sr., died at the age of 74, at his home in Miners-ville, Miners-ville, about 2:10 o'clock Thursday Thurs-day morning. He had been in poor health for two years, following fol-lowing a stroke suffered September Septem-ber 19, 1946. Mr. Gillins was born Jan. 19, 1874, at Minersville, a son of William and Elizabeth Ann Revill Gillins. He had spent his '. ' . An active member of the L D S Church, he had served as ward teacher, a member of the High Priest Quorum, and in 1917 had been ordained a counselor to Bishop Williams of the Minersville Miners-ville ward. He also served as mayor of Minersville, and as a member of the Minersville town board many years ago. He was one of the first commercial potato po-tato growers in the Milford Valley. Mr. Gillins married Alba Elizabeth Eliz-abeth Marshall in the St. George L D S Temple on December 21, 1897. Last December they had celebrated their golden wedding' anniversary. Surviving, besides his widow, are five sons and four daughters, Norman Gillins of Ogden, Clark Gillins of Beaver, Clarence Gillins, Gil-lins, Heber Gillins and Hilton Gillins, all of Minersville, Mrs. Vella Stephenson of Caliente, Nev.; Mrs. Ruth Hayward of Ruth, Nev.; Mrs. Rachel Eyre and Mrs. Irma Eyre of Minersville; Miners-ville; the following nieces, Mrs. Essie Thompson, Mrs. Flossie Rickerson, Mrs. Maud Mills, all of Milford; Mrs. Marie McGinty of San Bernardino, Calif., and Mrs. Julia Edwards of Beaver; and 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Saturday, May 22, in the Minersville school house, at 2 p. m. . Friends may call at the home Saturday from 10 a. m. until tune of the services. |
