It gives the students a spirit of study. , The end of the half year comes on January 17. Examin ations will be given and report cards made out. Parents should be sure to investig ate if they find their children failing at the half year. Teacher s' institute will be held this Saturda y at the Jordan High school. The theme of the institute will be "Vitaliz ing the School Curricu lum." Some departm ent meeting s are scheduled as well. Vincent Strong has been ill and absent from school during the last week. Jack Dearing broke his leg and he is absent. Losing these two boys practica lly ruins our chances in basketb all, because they are both sorely needed. We hope they recover ~uickly and report to the squad. The Home Econom ics classes gave the program in assembl y this week. It consiste d of original plays and songs. The girls took one or two raps at the boys, but the boys don't worry. They know the girls are thinking of them. Our school is now heated with gas. Everyon e has noticed the fine even tempera ture that prevails . These cold days hold no fear for the students . ; ~ WHERE TO SHOP Thorou a-hly Remod eled And Moder n and up-to- the-mi nute U.S. CAFE Samas & Thoma s, Propa. ()enter St. The doctors tell us that 90 per cent of all sickness is due to stomach and bowel troubles. You can't be well if your digestion is bad; you are likely to get sick unless you relish food and digest it properly . Tanlac has a wonderf ul record as a relief from digestive troubles, even those of years' standing . Local people, many of whom you know, are highly endorsin g Tanlac. For example, Mrs. Ellen White says: "For years I suffered from indigestion. I got no relief from anything until I took Tanlac. After my fourth bottle, I feel like a new person and have a fine appetite. " If you suffer from gas, pains in the stomach or bowels, dizziness , nausea, constipa tion, or torpid liver; if you have no appetite, can't sleep and are nervous and all run down, you need Tanlac. It is good, pure medicine , made of roots, herhs and barks. Get a bottle from your druggist today. Money back if it doesn't help you. Instead oi studyin g one country at a time, they study each product separate ly. They have to pretend to visit all the countrie s in the world which raise the product s they are studying . Because of this pretended travellin g around the world, they are becomin g well acquain ted with many countrie s. The boys and girls have decided to make real bm>klets . They have written all the names of the countrie s they have studied on slips of paper. Then a drawing took place, and each student has made a booklet on the country of his selection . In the booklet they have to have the followin g: a good colored map, a story of the country , the government, the product s, and the customs . Besides these four things they write one good story about somethi ng of interest in that country . The cover~ have to be made from the colors of the country 's flag they are writing about. They have collected all the pictures they could find and they have fastened their books together. Most of the books are attractiv e and well made.
