Show THE SENTINEL Page 6 Thursday, May io, 1984 Jordan School District Lunch Menus South Jordan group opposes lifting of Sunday ban on beer sales Jordan a further the residents crammed into their city council chambers Tuesday evening to protest a proposed ordinance that would eliminate the current e ban on Sunday beer sales. South Jordan is presently the only city in Salt Lake County that has such a restriction. Owners of the Glenmoor golf course requested that the ordinance be repealed to enable them to sell beer at their clubhouse on Sundays. After considerable public Glenmoor club comment, owners withdrew the request before the council could put it to a vote. South city-wid- council action awarded a plaque in recognition and thanks to city fire chief Bert Bouck for his years of service to the fire department. Chief Bouck will be retiring in June. Current city councilmember Ted Sandstrom was named as the new fire chief. He will assume that position on July 1. Kennecott Copper presented information to the council on some of development the that evaporation ponds corporation is constructing on the city's west side. N.S.C. is one of the many businesses associated with the Chamber in West Jordan, which according to Chamber officials, increased its in the last membership two years. The Chamber hosts monthly business luncheons for its members and has provided guest speakers with focus on current business and community interests. The April meeting was addressed by the County Flood director and local Control resident-Terr- y Holzworth, preceded by the March meeting two-fol- d fteat with Speaker of the House-Nor- of Special Improvement District to install curb, gutter, sidewalks, a storm sewer system and to pave the lane. The council voted to prepare a resolution of intention for the district.
