Pollard of Idaho spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pollard, prior to his leaving for Austi.n Texas where he will teach in the Umversity of Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Allsop were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Allsop of Tooele last Saturday. The Just-A-Mere club enjoyed a party in Little Cottonwood canyon Tuesday evening of last week. Those enjoying the affair were Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. W. 0. Boberg, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Jacobsen, Mr. and Mrs. Wm L. Hewlett, Mr. and Mrs. J. Thomas Ostler, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bird, Mr. and rMs. Fred Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Peterson, Mrs. Fern Hendrickson, Mr. Evan 0. Jensen of Sandy and Grant Carlson of Los Angeles. Mrs. L. E. Van Dam entertained the N B club at her home on East Second South street last Friday evening. Supper was served on small tables, followed by games to Mrs. Fischer, Mrs. Leonard Larson, Mrs. M. Bishop, Mrs. F. A. Orton, Mrs. Arthur E. Peterson, Mrs. Clyde Swenson, Mrs. Reg White, Mrs. G. D. Charlier, Mrs. J. w. Farrer, Mrs. A.M. Nelson, Mrs. William L. Hewlett, Mrs. T. C. Christian, Mrs. Wm. M. Hughes, Mrs. L. C. Mitchell, Mrs. L. E. Peterson, Mrs. L. L. Raddon, Mrs. A. 0. Mrs. Van Dam was assisted in serving by Mrs. Alma McCleary and Mrs. Paul Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Bateman and two sons of Almo, Idaho and their daughter of Lehi were visitors of Mrs. Bophrona Bateman last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Vom Baur and children left last week for Twin Falls to make their home. Mrs. 0. E. Vom Baur of Crescent spent Monday with her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Baguley. Mr. and Mrs. K. Parkin of Lehi b.a ve come to Sandy to make their home on East Second South street. Mr. and Mrs. Myrle were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. La Vere Adams of Lehi. Miss Beth Thompson and Miss Marge Dastrup spent the week-end in Salt Lake the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fotheringham. Mrs. Earl Allsop, Mrs. Veloy Allsop, Mrs. Wm. Hyler and Mrs. Jenivieve Hyler and Mrs. Myrtle Ostler and daughter, Fay, visited at Herriman Monday. Mrs. W. S. Bateman of Salt Lake was a week-end visitor of Mrs. Sophrona Bateman. Mrs. Wm. M. Hughes entertained at her home on Pioneer avenue on Thursday evenmg in honor of her birthday anniversary. Prizes were won by Mrs. E. Hughes and Mrs. Clyde Swenson. Miss Helen Vllhite left Thursday, September 18th for Hawaii for a mission. The following changes have been made in the mail routes. Sandy No. 4 has been changed to Sandy Ko.l. Sandy No. 3 has been changed to Sandy No. 2. The Sandy No. 2 route has been divided among Midvale No. 1, Riverton R. D. No. 1 and Sandy No. 2. Mr. Miller Christensen who has been on the mail routes for many years has retired. The Teachers ("mvention of the East Jordan Stake was held Tuesday afternoon, September 16th at 2 p. m. at the Third ward chapel on State street. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Tolman announce the marriage of their daughter Alice and Elmer :M. Smith of Draper, son ~f Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith. The marriage took place last week. Mrs. Zelma Thompson visited her mother, Mrs. Nephi Smith, Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Tolman and Bef Tha sons of Salt Lake were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Boulter. Mrs. Wylo Grant and children and Mrs. Arva Smith and sons of Granger visited relatives here Friday. Miss Madeline Gile entertained the Sunday school class of the Congregational church at a watermelon party Tuesday evening of last week. Mr. D. M. Nichol has returned home from a trip to California.
