The school was a very new and beautiful facility. It was obvious that a great deal of planning and expense had gone into the design both inside and outside. As I went into the building noticed something that both surprise and saddened me. The cement sidewalks and approaches to the gymnasium were literally covered with chewing gum that had been spit out; making though. Petersen 1 1 it difficult to walk without stepping in it. Ev en though it was dried, it was still pretty awful. At first I thought, maybe the custodian didn't care, but then 1 wondered why anyone should have to clean up such a mess that could be so easily avoided. There were plenty of garbage cans within a few steps of the entrance. Then I wondered if students just didn't care, or worse, purposely spit out their gum to show that they didn't care about their school. In any event. Fra sure opinion I about formed an people associated with that school, that w hile probably not fair to all of them, made me question what kind of people they must be? I hope as you enjoy all of the opportunities you experience at MHS, that you'll not allow any visitors to form an impression similar to the one 1 made. Its your school, how it looks reflects on all of us, past, present, and future. Help keep your school looking nice.
