On Wednesday, Brett Wanlass and Anieen Shaheen led the North Sevier Wolves to a 2 win over the Manti Templars. At first it looked as ifNorth Sevier 56-5- would run away with it as Wanlass got his way inside and Shaheen and Talon Zimmer got open for big outside shots to help the Wolves take a 8 lead into the 2nd quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Templars came back as Scott and Barclay made 2 Jeff Bahlmann started to dominate inside and Manti was able to cut fheir deficit to 0 at the half. Wrestling team takes 3rd in Central Division Wrestling Tournament The Manti High wrestling team placed third in the central division wrestling tournament and qualified nine for the state tourney. Millard High School, ranked in the state, easi !y vv alked aw ay w ith a div ision title, qualify ing 24 1 wrestlers for state action. North Sevier placed second ahead of Manti. followed by South Sevier and Gunnison. Leading the way for the Templars was Jesse Strickland who won 171 lb. weight class and earned the outstanding wrestler at his award. Jeff Bahlmann finally got some good looks inside in the 4th quarter, and Scott Barclay also made a 3 to help the Templars escape w ith a 3 victor' that still gave them a chance for the Region title. Kenny Cox had 16 points to lead the Templars, while Trevor Hooper led the Wasps with 10 kept it close. However, an unlikely hero, Ben Wilson, stepped up for the Wolves, scoring 6 points in the 4th quarter. With 10 seconds left to play, Wilson had just hit 2 free throws to give North Sevier a 56-5- 0 lead.
