E Peterson Funeral Held Funeral services were conducted conducted conducted con con- ducted Tuesday in the Manti North Ward Yard chapel for Mrs Mary lary Elizabeth Nielson Peterson Peterson Peterson Peter Peter- son 67 who died at her home in Manti l last Friday morning She reportedly complained of a headache when she got up that morning became unconscious later and died about 10 a. a m. m with cause of death being listed listed list list- ed cd as a cerebral hemorrhage i Mrs Peterson was born in Manti October 15 1884 a daughter daugh daugh- ter of Paul J. J and Elise Jensen Nielson She grew up in Manti ManU and was married to J. J C. C Peterson Peterson Peter Peter- son on May 26 1909 in the Manti temple Mrs Irs Peterson has made Manti Man Man- ti her home all her life with the exception of the years from 1917 to 1928 when the family lived in Gunnison She had al always always al- al ways been an active church worker especially in the Relief Society and Primary I I Surviving are her husband i a daughter Mrs 1 Clarence Eva Hall of Manti l a son Lt Col Kenneth J. E Johnson a vocal solo Goin Coin Home by Sam Parry and a violin solo Perfect Day by Easton Moffitt Speaker Charles of Gunnison said he had known the Petersons well since they lived in Gunnison and spoke highly of them He told of their work in the ward and told what a friendly hospitable family they were He said said Mary was I i friendly patient and a 3 mother who trained her children well lIe He said her home was a home with a 3 friendly open door James M M. Anderson spoke as a friend of many years telling of their long life-long friendship lIe He said he remembered Mary lary as a a 3 small child and described her as asa asa asa a lovely girl and a wonderful mother She came from a home of love and carried out the same principles in her own home he said He told what a ad ad d dependable e p pen e n d dab a b l 1 e Sunday School Schoolteacher Schoolteacher teacher she was giving a life of service He closed bv by ex ex- ex w pressing the hope that her children will emulate in their lives the spirit of service that Mary gave in her life Speaker A A. Bent Peterson re referred referred referred re- re to the occasion as being very sacred when we pay our last respects to our friends He explained the plan of the Saviors Savior's Saviors Savior's Sa viors vior's birth life on earth death and the hereafter He said Mrs 1 Peterson left a good name and anda a reputation of being faithful and true to any trust given herShe her She had the virtues of meekness meekness meekness meek meek- ness kindness and love as she gave a 3 life of service he said He told of her being known as asa asa a good cook and housekeeper Bishop Keller told of Mrs 1 Peterson being a 3 charitable woman woman woman wo wo- wo- wo man who truly lived a life o of charity He told of her work and the work of her family inthe inthe in inthe the North ward The graveside prayer in the Manti Cemetery was by Elmer Elmei Nielson Among those coming for the funeral were friends from Provo Provo Pro Pro- vo Ephraim Fountain Green anc and Gunnison Friends from Salt Sal Lake City and Provo who were unable to attend the services called at the home on Sunday |
