Show Manti Center MANTI MESSENGER, Manti, Utah Thursday, December 5, 1974 4 giving dinner at the home of Mrs. Leah Marx was Mr. and Mrs. Valdo Heath and daughter Karrle from Salina; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schlapfer and Mrs. Arna Schlapfer, all of Sterling PETERSON DONA Telephone 835-54- 53 Ken and Helene Larson spent of their Thanksgiving holiday time motoring to Duchesne County. They visited with relatives and old friends, checked on a matter of business and returned home. They, as a family, enjoyed dinner at home on Manti. part Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Marx of Ogden spent the weekend with his mother. Gene and Beverly Williams, accompanied by Claude, spent the holiday weekend in California with Hal and his family. He Is the eldest son of the Williams. Connie, a student at St. George, spent Thanksgiving at home. Evan and Lillie Thomas had a houseful for the holidays. Billie and Karolyn Thomas and their three children, Richfield; Sheldon and Wilma Thomas and daughter, Gunnison; Ace and Nedra Allred and family, Roy; Evans mother, Mrs. Maggie Thomas, and brother, Roy Thomas, were all present. Mrs. Maggie Thomas is visiting in Sandy at the home of Bob and Verda Mae Sorenson where she plans to spend about a week. Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Dozier from Plains, Georgia, their son James Dozier and their two children, Ron and Angel, also James Doziers mother, Mrs. L. M. Gardener from America, Georgia were all guests at the home of his brother Emery Dozier and his wife Gwen. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Traywlck who are stationed at Hill Air Force Base due to his occupation. Gwen and Emery did a little sightseeing with their guests while they were in the Beehive State. They drove to Salt Lake City to visit with some of the other relatives mostly Wanda Larson, Gwens mother. She lives very close to Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Kearns who just recently moved to Granger from Duane and Birdie Gunnison. Decker of Fairvlew, who had previously built the home In which the Kearns lived, bought their home back and are now back In Gunnison neighbors to Mr. and Mrs. Lance Hyatt, a brother and sister-ln-la- Tom and Lorraine Gouvisis, daughter Nleca and some of their relatives from Salt Lake City spent the holiday at the home of Lorraines parents, Don and Bernlece Ottoson. They all returned home that evening but Nleca who stayed with her grandparents until they took her home later in the week. The Relief Society held their w. regular meeting at the home of Alda Erickson last Wednes- Mr. and Mrs. Alan L. Peterson and son Eric enjoyed a turkey dinner at home with parents, Luclen and Dona Pe- terson day night. NAOMI DAVIS Telephone 835-52- 61 President and Mrs. Wilbur Cox, President and Mrs. Morgan Dyreng and Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Bralthwalte attended the dedication of the Washington D.C. LDS Temple. They were guests of Harold Beecher, the architect of the temple. While there the Dyrengs daughter, Mary Lou Myers from Huntsville, Alabama and the Coxes' daughter and husband, Bishop and Mrs. Joseph Ballantlne and daughter from Louisville, Kentucky and the Bralthwaites son George from Ithaca, New York all went to Washington, D.C. to enjoy a reunion with their parents. The Dyrengs and Coxes made the trip by car and enjoyed many points of interest along the way. The Bralthwaites went by plane. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Davidson enjoyed having their sons at home for the holiday. They included Charles and Christen and daughter Audrey Davidson; Sherman and Donna Davidson and two sons, Bob and Paul and daughter, Lori, all from Ogden. Thanksgiving dinner was enjoyed at the home of another son, Dr. and Mrs. Halvard Davidson and family. The next day dinner and a family reunion was enjoyed at the H. A. Davidson home. Mr. and Mrs. Averill Larsen have had their two daughters, Betty Christensen of Grand Junction, Colorado and Vera Spencer of Spokane, Washington visiting and also to be with their sister Emma Lou Keller who is seriously ill In the LDS Hospital In Salt Lake City. Emma Lou and Rays son Terry and daughter Karen from Denver, Colorado are also in Utah. Emma Lou was hurt In an accident near Mt. Pleasant the day before Thanksgiving. Reuben and Ann Buchanan enjoyed a trip to Soda Springs for Thanksgiving dinner with Anns sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Law. On their way home they stayed overnight with their son Darrel Buchanan and family In Farmington. Henry and LudellaWlntch enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the home of their son, Chesley and Mary Wintph in Salt Lake City. All of thely family was there to enjoy the occasion. They Included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carpenter and son of Manti; Fred and Jane Carpenter and family of Las Vagas; Arden andLucile Wintch and family of Salt Lake City; Clair and Joyce Christiansen of Salt Lake City; Richard Wintch, also of Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren and three guests. The Manti Center Ward Relief Society will be held Tuesday, December 10 at 10 a.m. and the family health lesson will be given by Lula Larsen. A special Christmas program will be presented under the direction of Jane Bralthwalte and her committee. Delos Jewkes of Salt Lake City will be included on the program. Emma Lou Keller, wife of Ray Keller, is In the Salt Lake Hospital. She was Injured in an accident Tuesday evening, November 26. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Redick and daughter Carla from Phoenix visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Wesley Saturday morning. They had been in Orem at his parents for Thanksgiving and were on their way home. Mrs. Lillie Keller had 23 guests at her home for Thanksgiving dinner. They included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hlgbee and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Keller and family, and Dr. and Mrs. Lyman Stevens and family. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Allen had many guests for Thanksgiving dinner. They included a son, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Allen and two daughters; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Anita) Cook and son and foster daughter; another son, Mr. and Mrs. David (Robin) Allen; another daughter Nadene Allen who Is currently attending BYU and her roommate Shana Norton' from Tulsa, Oklahoma; and on. The second session will be Glens father Joseph Allen. held Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. Betty Barton will give the family health lesson and refreshments will be served. The crafts will be under the direction of Sandra Cox. ovember 26 was the date that Lita Eklund and Arthur Bennett were married. Guests at the brides home for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ar- N Louise Eklund visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Eklund for the Thanksgiving holiday. Mrs. Edith Anderson visited at her granddaughters, Mrs. Maurlne Baxter, for the holiday. It was a large family reunion with five generations present. Among the visitors were Mrs. Andersons two The families of Mr. and Mrs. Wallen Christensen met in the Aurora cultural hall Saturday, November 30th. They ate a delightful Thanksgiving dinner of turkey with all the trimmings which was jointly of the prepared. Forty-thr- ee 52 immediate family members were present. They came from California, Oregon, Salt Lake City, Bountiful, Vernal, Manti, Centerfield, Delta, and Aurora. The activities that followed the dinner included volleyball, basketball, square dancing, a program, and an exchange of gifts in the spirit of Christmas. Sacrament meeting for the Manti North Ward will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, December 8. This is because of the "Messiah which will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, there will be no Relief Society lesson given in the morning. The ladies will meet instead at 1:00 p.m. for a Christmas program and refreshments.
