Show 4 The Magna TimWWeU Valley News, December 5, 2002 December is 3D prevention month Obituaries Preceded in death by his son, Jim; daughter, Karen; Cheryl Miller Griffiths Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Cheryl Miller Griffiths, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 28 She was bom Feb. 12, 1944 in Salt Lake City to Max and Emma Miller. She graduated from Cyprus High School. Cheryl married W. Hal Griffiths Oct. 19, 1962 in Salt Lake City. She is survived by her husband, Warren; two daughters. Lisa, Tina; son, Hal; four grandchildren; and three All whose lives she touched will ache at her passing. She was a friend to all and a blessing to n. many. Services were held Dec. 3. at Valley View Funeral Home. 4335 W. 4100 S. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. parents; and grandparents. Duckworth, passed away peacefully at home in Magna with his family by his side, Saturday morning Nov. 30. Merrill was bom April 1, 1931 to Alfred J. and Helen Monson Duckworth. Verne Melvin Heimbigner, 78, died Nov. He 28. in West Valley, was born to Jacob and Lydia Heimbigner in Odessa, Washington Aug. 6, 1924. He was married in Mose Lake, WA to Mary Helen Merkley Dec. 25, 1953. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. As a member of the LDS church, he served in many capacities as he moved in many areas of Europe and the Far East. He graduated from Harrington High School, in. andL . Services were held Dec. 3, at the South Jordan Glenmoor LDS 6th Ward chapel, 9800 S. 4200 W. Interment Utah Veterans Memorial Park. . Eva VVollam Eva Wollam, 88, died of causes on Nov. 27. Eva was bom April 2, 19 14 to Henry and Ellen Meng in Salt Lake City. She married Kenneth Wollam on May 7, 1942 in Elko, Nevada. Eva graduated from Cyprus High School. A devoted teacher, she established her own in Midvale for several years. In her later life she contributed over 500 hours of volunteer service to St. Mark's. Hospital. As a mother, she nurtured independence and a love of learning. Eva was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Jean; her sistser, Donna Beel; and three nephews, Steve Asbury, Greg Asbury, and Brad Beel. A special thanks to the' staff at Cordia Senior Residence, CareSource, and Garden Terrace for their dedicated and caring attention. At her request there will be no memorial service. He became ill while "he was bowling a perfect game" Bom March 23, 1918 in Magna, to James (Jens) Christian and Losene Hardman Andersen. Spent his youth in Vernal, Utah. Married Martha Laveta Larson April 4, 1942; solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Jan. 1, 1952; she preceded him in death Jan. 21, 2001. Served in the Army during World War II. He was an avid sportsman and spent many hours in family activities. Retired after 20 years as a machinist from Hercules Corp.
