The Scarlet Pimpernel wilt continue through June performing on Tuesday. Thursday and Saturday and the talented Diana Day ley Bowler as Marguente and Daniel Beck as Sir Percy on Monday, Wednesday and Fnday. HCT was masterful in its innovative set design, w hich often expands to three levels with action happening on all levels. With the original Broadway show costumes and sets, tire Hale Theater has taken a production meant for a proscenium stage and adapted it for the Watching the scene changes are as fun as watching the musical and often a scene change takes place so effortlessly in front of your eyes that you'll be amazed at the creativity of the change after it has happened. One of the most enjoyable ones being the change of Sir Percys study into his private ship "the Daydream" Although fans of the Baroness Orczy's Scarlet Pimpernel story will notice some changes in the sequence of events as the book w as adapted for the Hamngton-Brus- e A T,H, 3 v V St theater-in-the-roun- V17 vs -- v - J I ,y HCT musical production of The Scarlet Pimpernel as Marguerite Craig featrues Randi Harrington-Brus- e Bowen as Chauvelin. The show runs through June 18. eloquently as the music and those who are performing them. The talents of Tony Cobb as Sir Percy Blakeney, aka The Scarlet Pimpernel, and as Randi Harrington-Brus- e Marguerite and often breath taking. Cobb could sing throughout the entire show and satisfy everyone in the audience with his British-esqu- e good looks and a voice that never falters. He plays the foolish, fashion hungry fop as easily as the danng sw ashbuckler ready to risk everything to help save the French Monarchy. Harrington-Brus- e plays the part of Marguente brilliantly. The cast leads alternate performances with Cobb and By DE33I OLSON Editor "Sink me" if the Hale Centre Theatre didn't put together one of the best shows of the year throughout the entire Salt Lake Valley with its current productions of The Scarlet Pimpernel. From the First strains of music as Marguerite St. Just d is rises atop a old fashioned carousel you know two-tiere- you are in for one spectacular show that never quits from scene to scene and from one musical number to the next. The story is delightful, the sets and costumes are beautiful and the talent of of the actors on the stage are stirring. Passions rise and fall as are still available. Latecomers should be aware that they will not be seated in the theater until up to an hour after the show starts due to the movement happening onstage and in the hallways around the theater. at 8 p.m. HCT is hoping to extend the production through June 22 if they are able to keep the costumes for an additional week.
