Show Thursday, Sente Magna Times, Magna, Utah 4-- II CLUB NEWS The group exhibit consisted of skirts and tops, one made of wool reby Cathy Zimmerman, club wool-lik- e a of made another porter, material by Judy Zimmerman, club song leader; two Bermuda sets, one with a matching top by Sandra Peck, activity manager, the other by Ann Sutton and two record books by Judy Zimmerman and Maxine Thorton, club vice president. Individual exhibits of ensembles were entered in the fair by Julia Zimmerman, club cheer leader; Maxina Thorton, Ann Sutton and Jeannette Sequaptewa. Sandra Peck won a blue ribbon on a jumper and blouse set of a heavy cotton material. Cathy Zimmerman won another blue ribbon on her entry in the record book contest This club carried home more than their share of honors from the county fair. Cathy Zimmerman, club reporter 2 The Saltair Cutups, a Club, tried a new project this year-t- or a community service and health. They focused their attention upon the Red Cross and learning all about the Red Cross blood program became their goal. Ann Sutton, club president, having an affiliation with the Junior Red Cross, arranged for the club to visit the Red Cross Building and the girls spent an afterh tubes on noon taping 26 dozen blood bottles. The Cutups have not quite finished their summer club work, even though the Salt Lake County Fair Is past. DUANE HUGHES of 3390 S. 7655 West, was awarded a Master of Science Education degree. He has worked for the degree in the Academic Year Institute program of the National Science Foundation and is teaching this year at Cyprus High School. He and his wife have two children. Bud L. ONE MONTH'S FREE GOVERNMENT A JOINT RESOLUTION PROPOSING TO AMEND ARTICLE XIII, SECTION 2 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF UTAH, RELATING TO TANGIBLE PROPERTIES EXEMPT FROM TAXATION. Be it resolved by the Legislature of the State of Utah, of all members elected to each of the two house voting in favor thereof: . Section 1. It is proposed to amend Article XIII, Section 2 of the constitution of the State of Utah to read as follows: All tangible property in the state, not exempt under the lawa of the United States, the State of Utah, or under this constitution, shall be taxed in proportion to its value, to be ascertained as provided by law. The property of the state, counties, cities, towns, school districts, municipal coiporations and public libraries, lots with the buildings thereon used exclusively for either .religious worship or charitable purposes, and places of burial not held or used for private. or corporate benefit, shall be exempt, from taxation. Water rights, ditches, canals, reservoirs, power plants, pumping plant, transmission Jines, pipes .and flumes owned and used by individuals or corporations for irrigating lands within the state owned by such individuals or corporations, or the individual members thereof, shall not be separately taxed as t long M they shall be owned and used exclusively for such pur-- poses. Power plants, power lines and other transmission property used for generating delivering electrical power,- portion of which is used for furnishing power for pumping water for irrigation purposes on lands in the State of Utah, may bo exempted, from taxation to the extent that such property is used for such purposes. These exemptions shall accrue to the benefit of the users of water so pumped under such regulations as the legislature may prescribe. The taxes of the indigent poor may be remitted or abated at such times and in such manner as may be provided by law.
