A wholesale liquor license was grant- H -cd the City Drug Co. Qtaf? Glascr and Gardner were granted J" license to conduct a bllliaid hall on H First North. Retail liquor license H was granted the Logan Meicantlle H -Co., John J. Hurst manager. H A resolution creating sidewalk dls- H trlct No. (i was passed. This cm- H braces all the property abutting on H the west side of Main street between H First South and Fourth South streets. H A protest against paving tho block H farthest south was presented and I tabled. A board of equalization will I consider the protest at some later xlate. Carl. A Torp, who runs a licensed I express wagon, reported that a num- "hrr nf norsnns are runninir cxnress -wagons and paying no license. He asked that the matter be incstlgated. Marshal Crockett was Instructed to enfoico the ordinance. The bids for the lcntal of city land wcio opencdi Moses Tliatcher Jr. I bid $200 a year for the city Park; i Emanuel Peterson $200; J. W. Eamcs J $170; James Larscn $178.50; E. O. Smith $150; U. J. Johnson $100. On motion of Hatch, the bid of Moses J Thatcher Jr. was accepted. The vote -on a substitute motion of Mr.' Hansen ' that Mr. Peterson's bid of $200 be accepted was as follows: Carlisle. Hatch, Smith, Evans, Crawford, Qiuylc otlng"no". The others vot-ing vot-ing "aye". The bid of II. A. James for Fames lot was accepted. Hid of S. J. Johnson for 7 acres west " of park was accepted. $55 w as named. The petition peti-tion sets forth that at tho time Mr. ' Pedcrscn was elected Justice of the Teacc, the salary was $200 a year, and that after the election tho salary was cut to $150. Ho now asks for the $50 dlffcience each year, making $100 for the time he was In olllcc. Tills was referred to committee on claims with attorney associated. Tho committee on public ground reported In matter of Cardon, Ste- wart, Beck and others offering to convey con-vey to Logan city 20 fct of land through court house block reported J. that 50 would open the street, and advised acceptance of gift, Recom-incndation Recom-incndation was accepted. The committee appointed to Investigate Invest-igate petition of F. J. Marshall and others for tho opening of a sticct from Canyon street to Crockett acnuo in the 7th ward, reported that tho street could not be opened without condemnation condemna-tion proceedings, some of the property owners refusing to sell at a rate of less than $1,000 per acre. Inasmuch as the street is badly needed and that about 30 families will bo benetitted, the committee recommended that tho matter of condemning property bo referred to city attorney as to pro-Ibablo pro-Ibablo cost, etc. Cemetery commltteo recommended that water pipes be laid along ccmc-I ccmc-I tery street No. 2(1. j Tho bid of Gllmartin Ac '.Itzman, of Ogdcn, for the paving of both sides of "West Center from Fist West to tho O.
