Show POPULAR COUPLE MARRIED AT SALT LAKE HICHMOND, March 18. Mrs. Florence Swendsen and Mr. Leon Pond of Lewlston wore united In narriagc at Salt Lake City Wednesday Wednes-day of last week. Contrary to tho usual custom Mrs. Swcndson made her wedding tolr previous to her marriage. mar-riage. Accompanied by her two children sho has been visiting In California Cal-ifornia and upon her return was met by her betrothed at the capital city where the ceremony took place. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Swcnd sen has kept up her husband's business busi-ness that he was engaged In previous to his death, and regardless of hard work and lonllness sho has kept her post and done her duty as an opera tor at Webeter Spurr. Mr. and Mrs. Pond wll make their home In Lew-tston. Lew-tston. Leon is the son of Mark Pond and will. takechorgo of his, father's work In Lewlston, as he contemplates making his future homo in Logan. The happpy newlyweds have tho good wishes of our community for a happy and prosperous future.. Last Sunday Mrs. L. P. Swendsen gave a dinner in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Pond. Only thoso who have had th, pleasure of being guests at a dinner given by Mrs. Swendsen will ' know what such an honor means, noses and carnations adorned tho table where covers were laid for eight,' and to say that all was beautiful and the food delicious is Just partly describing the event. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Hendricks have returned to their homotown-to stay as they have bought the homo formerly owned and built by Joseph Knowles and was later puichnsed by Ell Webb. Mr. llichard Derntson of Logan has been a visitor' hero during the week. The South Ward Primary association associa-tion will give a bazaar Monday, April Ap-ril 5. An assortment of ready made dresses, aprons, caps, quilts, etc., as well as many other articles will be on sale. The afternoon will be taken tak-en up In selling and huylng. Also a. children's dance will be glvon. In tho evening there-will bo a program and danco. Everybody Is Invited. The charges are 5 cents to the children's chil-dren's dance and 25 cents for tho vcnlng entertainment. Saturday evening Mrs. II. A. Adamson Ad-amson entertained at cards in honor of Herbert Van Noy, who Is about to enter tho matrlmouial sphere. Tho party consisted of boy . chums and friends. A delicious luncheon was served by tho hostoss and a most Jolly time Is reported by tho boys. Mr. C. E. Merrill Is In California In the Interest of tho condensed milk factory.
