Show FUNERAL IS HELD FOR MBS. A, N. uuhlhouh The funeral sen-Ices for tho lato Mrs. Lnvlnn Hughes Sorenson, wlfo of Prof. A. N. Sorenson, wero held at Mcndon Sunday afternoon at tho ward chapel, under tho dlrectoton of tho Mendon bishopric. They wero unusually Impressive and filled with the dlvlno spirit of sympathy anj consolation and the faith of a future eternal life. The choir sang the opening song, "Softly Beams tho Sacred Dawning." Prayer was offered by Eldar Ed-dls Ed-dls Watkins of Brigham City. Tho first speaker was Elder Quo. N. Sorenson who spoke of tho separation separ-ation death mado, saying It was only temporary, only for a destined Interval, In-terval, that death regarded this way was robbed of Its terror and hopeless hope-less sorrow, that It would only be a tlmo until tho spirit would again ro-claim ro-claim Its body and tho loved ones would be united In everlasting lire W. I. Sorenson then spoke offering offer-ing sympathy to tho bereaved In tile loss of such a wlfo, mother, sister and daughter. He said what a faith, ful worker In tho Sunday school and tho choir sl(o had been and what n Bterllng member of tho ward. He was followed by President Joseph Qulnncy representing tho board of trustees of tho B. Y. Collcgo and tin. Logan stake, Pros. W. W. Henderson Hender-son of tho B.Y.C., Prof. A. L. Jensen and Prof. W. O. Doblnson. These gentlemen nil expressed appreciation of tho ascoclatlon. they had had with Mrs. Soicnson, of her sweet disposition disposi-tion ond her charm. They tendered their sympathy to tho bereaved family fam-ily and asked tho blessings of tho Lord upon them. Tho B. Y. C. quartet rendered two selections during tho servlro nnd thcro wa salso n cornet and violin duct given by Elders a. O. Swecton and Alonzo Wood. Tho choir sang tho closing hymn, "God Bo With You Till Wo Meet Again." Tho benediction was offered by Bishop Watkins of Logan. The.flor-Bl The.flor-Bl offerings wero especially beautiful and many, symbolic of a life o? sweetness and service. A long cortege cor-tege followed tho remains to their last resting placo, where tho gravo was dedicated by Elder M. D. Bird. Mrs. Sorenson leaves a husband, n little Bon, Wendol, twcnty-slx months nl, a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hughes, three sisters, Mrs. E. O. Winn of Brigham City, Mrs. M. D. Bird of Mcndon and Gladys Hughes of Mcndon, three brothers, Clrrlcs Hughes Jr. ,of Ar-bon, Ar-bon, Idaho, II. G. Hughes of Mcndon Mcn-don and John O. Hughes, now fulfilling ful-filling a mission In England. |
