Show i, OLDPIOH IS DEAD AT SMITHFIELD Smlthflold, Feb. 2G. Thomas L. Craghead, ono of our early ploneer3, died hero Tuesday of general debility after a lingering Illness covering many months. Mr. Craghead was born May, 1842. In tho state of Virginia. Vir-ginia. He Joined tho church of Josus Christ ot Latter-Day Saints when eight years old, and came to Utah In tho year 18EG and has boon n resident of Smlthflold since I860. Mr. Craghoad had boon married twice, his first wife being Harriot Wilson and his second wife, Mary Wilson; both are dead. Ho leaves four children to mourn his departure: depart-ure: Mrs. Martini Bright of Lowlston, Mrs. James Glttcns, Mrs. Sarah Glt-tens Glt-tens and Mr. Thomas Craghead of Smlthflcld. Funeral services wcro held over his remains, Thursday, in tho First ward tabernacle at 2 p. m. Mr. Otto Rasmussen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Niels Rasmussen of this place died Tuesday morning of hem-orago hem-orago of the brain at Soda Springs. Ho was a momber of tho W. O. W. ot this city and was brought here for burial. Sovoral very pleasant social oventa havo taken placo during tho past weok. Bishop Geo. L. Farrell's 88th birthday was celebrated at his home by a number of his relatives and friends giving him a pleasant surprise Mrs. Mao Cantwell entertained at her home tho evening of Washington's Washing-ton's birthday. Tho rooms wore decorated dec-orated In tho national colors and beautiful red and whlto carnations. Tho following guests woro present: Messrs. and Mcsdamcs Robert Griffith, Grif-fith, J. E. Shoffcr. Dr. R. T. Merrill, Thomas Mathows, T. B. Farr, Lorenzo Toolson, J, A. Gutke, T. H. Chambers, Cham-bers, W. 1.. Winn, W. H. Griffith, Qeorgo Chambers, MIs3 Owen Morrlt-son, Morrlt-son, Miss Lowls, Mr. Robert Dock, and Mr. E. S. Chaiubors. "Rod, Whlto and Blue," a four-act four-act war drama was presented In tho Hillyard opora house Friday evening by tho First ward M. I. A. and wni very much enjoyed by (ho crowded houso which grcetod tho players. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Morklo entertained enter-tained at Sunday dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Prly of Lognu.
