Show FUNERAL SERVICE HELD FOR GEO. W.JIITER Funeral of Prominent Mining Man It Held at University Club, Many Tributes Paid Salt Lake, Aug, 25. Final tribute was paid to the memory of George W. Rltcr, mining man of considerable prominence in Utah, in Impressive funeral services held at the Univers' Ity Club yesterday afternoon. Tho main floor ot the University club building was filled with Borrowing relatives and friends who had gathered gather-ed to show respect to Mr. Riter who died Sunday. The services consisted of music and several orations. Dr. J. T. Kingsbury, president of tho University of Utah when Mr. Rltor was gaining his earlier education educa-tion In that institution, spoke of the high character of his former student as did also Professor Levi Edgar Young of the department of history nt the time Mr, Riter attended the state lnstltulon. Roth men told of rich personality, both at tho tlmo when ho was a student and later when lie became a man of the business busi-ness world. Another speaker was James Ingebrctsn who was a warm friend of Mr. Riter nnd who hod known him for years. Music for tho occasion was furnished furnish-ed by a quartet of friends ot Mr. Riter. Pallbearers for tho occaelon were Kussel L. Tracy, C. J. Evans, Paul Rols, W. H. Gregory, J. C. Jones and George Sheldon. Interment was in the City cemetery ceme-tery where tho body, was placed 0. the family plot. r |
