Show Americans Injured in Pitfall Laid by Filipinos. Fili-pinos. Lieutenants Feeler and Wetherell, of the Eighteenth infantry, were very badly wounded by bamboo spikes in a pitfall near Carmen, Bohol, Friday. Feeler was wounded in the feet and Wetherill in the thigh, an operation being necessary to extra'ct the sticks. Lieutenant Smith was also slightly hurt. The men fell into a pitfall cleverly arranged by Filipinos. First Lieutenant George Feeler is a I native of New York. He entered the army as a second lieutenant in May, 1899. Second Lieutenants Richard Wetherell and Ira A. Smith were appointed ap-pointed from the ranks in February last. ' |
