Show Curious Cause of Death. A peculiar accident caused the death from blood poisoning of John Meyer, one of Williamsburg's wealthiest residents, resi-dents, says the New York World. Mr. Meyer was associated as a real estate dealer, with his brothers, Cord and Chris, at No. 62 William street, Manhattan. Man-hattan. The three were sons of the late Cord Meyer, the millionaire sugar refiner, who died five years ago. Mr. Meyer was sharpening a lead pencil in his oftlce about two weeks ago, and in doing so accidentally cut the index finger of his right hand. That night the finger began to swell, and later, when its condition required treatment, Mr. Meyer learned that blood poisoning had set in. He was treated by the best physicians, but they could not save his life. |
