Show HOW TO PLAY RAINY DAY MARBLES. Rainy Day Marbles is a pretty good game and can be played by two or as many as seven; one for each black dot in the "ring." Cut out the picture, pic-ture, with the following directions, and place the whole thing on a sheet of stiff paper or cardboard. Each player takes a pin and after it is decided who shall have "first shot" and in what order the rest of the players shall follow, the game begins. The object of each player is to reach one of the black dots, or "marbles," which is then, his property proper-ty and counts one for him, but at the same time to keep any one of the players from reaching one. He can do this by moving in front of another player in such a way that that player cannot move forward. In such case, if a player can neither move forward nor to either side, he must go back " to the outside of the r!ng and start again. Each player can move one space to the next circle in front or to the side of the space he occupiels, but cannot move back. When a player reaches a black dot or "marble" he leaves his pin in it to show that it is "out" of (the ring, and after that, every other "marble" he captures counts him twol for he must go outside and start over again on another line with a nejvv pin. It is generally the best policy to devote your early movei to blocking another player, and when this has brought you near to a marble to make a sudden dash for It. Each player may choose any starting start-ing point he wishes, and when all the "marbles" have been knocked out, the player having the largest number to his credit wins tha game. i- ' i |
