Show p The Legislplfe Guarded Armed Meh Denver, Cole, Jan. 19 At 10 o'clock tonight two rival Senates are in existence as a result of today's to-day's proceedings in the Colorado Col-orado General Assembly. One body is presided over by Lieut. -Gov. Haggott and the other by Senator Adarfls, President pro tem. of the Senate. Both bod ies tire surrounded by policemen atid armed guards. The greatest great-est excitement prevails and bloodshed is feared by many. Of the seventeen contested election cases the tloufcft seated eleven Democrats and six Republicans. Re-publicans. ' Phis carried out the deal made several day ago by the Democrats and the anti-Wolcott i Republicans and gave the Republicans Re-publicans a majority of oue on joint ballot. The fourteen Democrats Dem-ocrats in the Senate viewed the; action of the House as revolutionary revolu-tionary and at once ousted two Republican senators, thus giving the Democrats a majority of two on joint ballot. |
