Show THE CROCKETT FAMILY. Father David Crockett, who died in April, 1879, was one of the first settlers of Logan City. Strike the names of the Crockett family from the history of Logan and several links will be lacking in its historic chain. The wife of Father Crockett, Sister Lydia Young Crockett still lives, being now in her seventieth year, hale and hearty. Her posterity living and dead, speaking after the manner of the flesh, numbers as follows: Thirteen children, 83 grand children and 24 great-grand-children, making 122 in all. She has also an adopted child who has three children; these swell the total to 126. The last of this honorable heritage is a great-grandson. He is the son of Ozro, son of Alvin, who was the son of David, and made his debut upon this stage of mortality at 7 a. m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14th 1882, weighing 9 lbs, ?? oz. Sister Lydia, or Mother Crockett, has twin aunts now living in the state of Maine, who have attained the ripe age of ninety-one years. One of these has given birth to 14 children, and 15 children have claimed the other sister as mother. Verily, "Children are an heritage from the Lord, and blessed is he that hath his quiver full of them." Contributor. Logan, Utah. |
