Show A WONDERFUL CAT STORY.

A gentleman who has a fountain in his front yard stocked with small fish had been puzzled for some time over the disappearance of the fish from the basin of the fountain. One night last week he and several friends sat up and watched. About two o'clock they saw the household cat stealthily approach the rim of the fountain and scratch in the ground. The cat caught a worm, which she moved around in the water for a few minutes, then, when the little fish would rise and bite at the bait, the cat, with the other paw, grabbed and ate them. "Puss" was the "lone fisherman" of the place. The above story is authentic, yet it reads as if it was apocryphal. Here is an important fact for scientists who draw a distinction between instinct and reason. |
