[Esquire], entitled "Sunset" and "Moonlight," illustrating scenery in Blacksmith Fork canyon, that have been sometime in the possession of Dr. Ormsby, were sold by the artist a few days since to conductor D. F. Brown, Esq. [Esquire], of the U. & N., the price paid for the pair being $100. We congratulate friend Brown on his artistic taste and the possession of a fine pair of pictures obtained for little more than half price.<br><br> CARPETS! CARPETS! A NICE LINE OF CARPETS AT Z.C.M.I. A crowd of young fellows, some of them pretty rough, were standing on the corner, and as we passed we heard them refer to a certain police judge as "Old Perfumery." "Who gave him that name?" we asked. "O, some of the boys," answered a young chap. "What makes them call him such name as ‘Old Perfumery?'" we again enquired [inquired]. On the 18th a young man in Smithfield 17 years of age, named Ralph Thornley, while running a horse at a high speed and in turning a corner, was thrown to the ground with great violence. His left leg was broken below the knee. Mr. D. B. Lamoreaux was sent for, and he set the limb and put it in plaster.<br><br> PEERLESS REAPER & MOWER. "The triumph of the Nineteenth Century." Johnson, has enlarged his basic store, added to his stock of musical instruments, toys, &c., and now comes out in this issue with an advertisement announcing the wares he has on sale. Step in and see him and his goods.<br><br> PERSONAL. On Monday last we received a pleasant call from D. M. Finley, Esq. [Esquire], Salt Lake agent of the Bradstreet Mercantile Agency. Mr. Finley has been spending some days in Logan, collecting information relating to the various business houses of this city. He expresses himself highly pleased with the appearance of our town.<br><br> ADMINISTRATOR'S SALE! THERE will be sold on Saturday, May 11th, 1881, the valuable real estate known as the Wiseman lot, situated on Main Street, Logan. This lot has been divided into four building spots, each having a frontage of twenty-seven and a half feet, and each being accessible in the rear by a permanent right of way. Each building spot will be sold to the highest bidder. The buildings, out-houses, &c., will be sold separate from the land. <br><br> Two full city lots, situated in the Fifth Ward, Logan, will also be sold, each to the highest bidder.<br><br> Also, at the same time, and to the highest bidder, will be sold a quantity of personal property, consisting in part of a bed, bedstead, tables, chairs, silver watch and gold chain, &c., &c. <br><br> The above sale will take place on the Wiseman lot at 10 o'clock a.m. on the date above mentioned, in pursuance of due and legal authority obtained from the Probate court of Cache county.
