Owners of dogs within the corporate limits of Logan city are hereby notified that the ordinance in relation to dogs will be strictly enforced on and after March 15th, 1881. Particular attention is called to the following section sof said ordinance: [unreadable word] 1. [unreadable word] It ordained by the City Council of Logan city, that no person shall keep a dog within the limits of said city, without having the same duty registered as hereinafter provided, and obtaining a certificate of such registration. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall, where penniless are not herein otherwise provided be liable to a fine of not less than three nor more than twenty-five dollars and costs for each offense. It is not an unusual thing to find wagons, wood, and rubbish on some of our sidewalks and on dark nights persons are liable to be badly hurt unless the practice is stopped. Those who do not already know should learn that sidewalks are public property and should not be used without permission from the city Council. Should any accident occur from unnecessary obstruction, the person guilty would be liable for damages, which might come very heavy. Some of the people of Logan are very careless in regard to the rights of others, and a little punishment in the way of line sor otherwise, might teach them to be more considerate. X. Logan, Mar. 5th, 1881. Saloon Closed. For some months past, and until quite recently, Millville suffered the unenviable notoriety of being the only town in Cahce county in which existed a liquor saloon. But at length, by the use of a strong moral influence on the part of the leading citizens, the [unreadable word] of the saloon has been effected, and it was closed last week. We congratulate the good people of Millville on their victory, and on being once again free from such a detestable nuisance as a liquor saloon. We learn of the closing of the saloon, and of the means by which it was accomplished, from Actang Bishop, John King. Just Arrived. At P.a.
