Redford, currently is receiving some acclaim in Seattle for his latest dramatic creation, produced recently in the Seattle Playhouse by the University of Washington school of drama. Grant is an assistant professor of English at the University, and has previously gained attention in the field of drama while on the staff of College of Southern Utah in Cedar City. He and starred in the Zion Park Easter pageant, and for his masters thesis at Iowa University he wrote a full length play, In the Tide of the Empire," which was produced in several Utah communities during the early 40s. His latest achievement, a play called Gods Clay, drew this comment from the Seattle Times of Jan. 16: God s Clay succeeds, both as a drama and as an urgent yet artistic plea tor- eason and tolerance as opposed to the fapatlc singlemindedness of a closed society." This comment is from the editor of a literary magazine: During the last year and half Ive visited productions in 17 states and Gods Clay' is the most exciting dramatic experience Ive encountered. You have every reason to be happy with it. I wish you would try a British production for It." -- Mr. Redford was gradual from Utah State in 1937. While on campus he was editor of Student Life," and majored in political science. We remember the late Prof. Frank R. Arnold once saying to Grant: "You write very well, Grant. And you are touched by the unseen hand which fires some souls. In your Student Life' newspaper why dont you write a column and call it: Seeing Red with Redford?" Grants wife is the former lone Iligbee of Cedar City, and they have three sons one of them attending high school in Cedar City. Mrs, Gwen H. Redford, mother of Grant and former Logan Junior high school teacher, resides at 312 North 5th East, Logan. The Slop Went EAST ORANGE, N.J.
