beyond illegal drugs and attack alcohol and tobacco dependency an American Bar Association study says "In recent years our nation's drug policy has focused primarily on illicit drugs giving little or no attention to the devastating effects of alcohol and tobacco” concludes the report by an ABA special committee on the drug crisis “Alcohol and tobacco are responsible for more deaths on an annual basis than all illicit drugs combined" The report released today at the ABA's national convention comes just days after University of Michigan researchers revealed a study showing that smoking and drug use are increasing among American after a decade of decline “We feel the problem is getting worse and not better” ABA President R William Ide III said "Inadequate attention is paid to the problem
