Jsss Bromley Honored At State FFA Meet Jess Bromley was elected to the office of reporter at the close of the 21st annual convention of Utah's Future Farmers of America Ameri-ca in Salt Lake City Saturday. Jess is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adair W. Bromley and at present is attending the USAC at Logan. The coveted State Farmer degree de-gree was awarded at the convention conven-tion to Floyd Vest, Lynn Harris and James Hindley of the local chapter. The degree is awarded for outstanding individual records rec-ords in future farmer work and for service within the chapter. More than 300 farm youths attended at-tended the two-day convention which was devoted to youth lead- County Vegetable Growers To Study. UTAH Perry Bush Dies At California Home THURSDAY, APR!L7 Pulley and Hales Choose Turkey Project Two ambitious FFA beginners who have jointly undertaken a turkey raising project are Jerry Pulley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Pulley, and Carl Hales, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert S. Hales. The boys have arranged for the financing of their project, have ordered the poults for de livery in late April, and have ar ranged for brooding space on the Pulley farm, and range land for the summer. The two Future Farmers have ordered 2000 broadbreasted bronze hen poults and from care ful calculation they have deter mined that each bird at maturity will have cost the grower $5.80 This figure includes the hatchery price, medicines, labor and in terest. Each bird, according to their figures will consume one sack of feed during its life span The turkeys will be processed for the Thanksgiving market which means they will be pro cessed at a local plant about Nov. 10. Fork Native David Edward Morgan, 33, provo, native of American Fork, met his death Thursday morning at about 10:45 near the Pony Express Ex-press monument at the Pclnt-of-the-Mountain. Mr. Morgan was riding a motorcycle. Four companions com-panions who were traveling in advance were not aware of the accident. A passing motorist later reoorted having noticed the ; front whoe. Instructors Meet With State Heads State Supervisor Mark Nichols and Assistant Supervisor Elvin Downs held a conference with agriculture instructors, princi pals, and superintendents at Springville Monday afternoon. The problem of , coordinating the educational program of the young farmers was discussed at length. It was pointed out that the G. I. on-the-farm training program should be dove-tailed with the young farmer program carried on under the direction of the high school vocational agricultural instructor. Local educators and supervisors plan to meet in the very near future and map a new program in. terms of the instruction given by Mr. Nichols. The Springville meeting was attended by Leo Hansen, assistant assist-ant supervisor of the Alpine district; dis-trict; A. B. Allen, agricultural instructor; Leland Clark, Alpine district supervisor of the G. I. training program; and vocational voca-tional agricultural instructor A. B.
