Sorosis Mrs. Lawrence Brlggs enter tained Sorosis club members Fri day afternoon. Special guests were Mrs. O. A. Anderson, Mrs. Thomas A. Barratt, Mrs. William Chipman, and Mrs. William Thornton. Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Bert Adamson and Mrs. Barratt won the prizes. Four tables were played and lunch was served by the hostess. Feality Feality members were guests of Mrs. LaDrue Varney Thursday evening for three tables of bridge. Mrs. Si Bell and Mrs. Lloyd Tre- gaskis were special guests. Mrs Keith Nielsen, Mrs. Bell and Mrs. John Varney won the prizes. Mrs Velda Shumway, a former mem- r, has rejoined the group. Contract Mrs. Phillip Cave was hostess to her contract club Wednesday when two tables were played fol lowing dessert lunch. Mrs. A. F. Coleman was a special guest, and she and Mrs. Walter Stef fen won the prizes. Arlitra Guild Thomas A. Walker, superinten dent of the Timpanogos Cave Na tional Monument, spoke on "Na tional Parks and Monuments During the Centennial Year" be fore Arlitra Guild members at their meeting Monday evening. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. David Cahn. Mrs, Harold Holley, president, discussed discuss-ed the coming spring convention of the Timpanogos First Federat ed district and also the Presi dents Council which was recently formed. Following the meeting a social hour was enjoyed compli mentary to Mrs. Olin H. Ririe, a charter member and past presi dent of the club who is leaving for Ogden to make her home. Mrs Ririe was presented with a book of poems and refreshments were served. Next meeting of the group will be Feb. 2, which will be guest night. "Happy birthday" wishes" were extended Mrs. William Brooks Tuesday afternoon by the mem bers of the Fifth Ward Relief So ciety following the regular meeting. meet-ing. Mrs. Brooks has achieved a nine year unbroken record for attendance at Relief Society. A lighted birthday cake, baked and decorated by Mrs. Jarrvis Ayde-lotte Ayde-lotte of the presidency, was cut and served. The affair was a surprise arrangement. Miss Rue Ann Winter was pleasantly surprised at her home Saturday evening when sixteen of her friends came to celebrate her sixteenth birthday, the party having been arranged by her mother, Mrs. Rulon W. Winter. The group enjoyed playing "Bingo", the prizes being won by Lois Humphries and Keith Smith, high scores; and Lola Wagstaff and Max Smith, low scores. A delicious lunch was served. In addition to those names, the guests were Jackie Carter, Joan Gerber, Jean Shepherd, Connie Robinson, Cleo Wagstaff, Don Greene, Ralph McDonald, Blair Reese, Keith Smith, Ron Smith, Max Smith, Glen Werner, Loyal Iverson and LeRoy Griffin. Shower For Bride Complimenting Mrs. Lawrence McDaniel, formerly Miss Betty Pratt, a shower was given by Mrs. Richard Miller, Mrs. Lanny Kitchen Kit-chen and Miss Vera Bean at the Miller home Friday night. Games were enjoyed and a delicious lunch was served. Mrs. McDaniel received lovely gifts. Those attending at-tending were Mrs. McDaniel, Mrs. Loyal R. Merkley, Mrs. William C. Ashby, Mrs. Junior N. Williamson, William-son, Mrs. Richard Powelson, Miss Donna Turner and Miss Beverly Birk. Selowia Mrs. Earl Holmstead, Lehl, was hostess to Selowia club members Thursday evening of last week. A delicious dinner was served after which the evening was spent playing "Hearts". Miss Jean Holmstead, who was a special spec-ial guest, and Mrs. Glen C. Barratt Bar-ratt won the prizes. Others present were Mrs. Irvin Chip-man, Chip-man, Mrs. Dale Clark, Mrs. Owen Dean Jr., Mrs. Harold Ellison, Mrs. Wendell P. Hansen, Mrs. Calvin Mills, Mrs. Merrill R.
