Invitations are being extended to a wide circle of relatives rela-tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Goates of Blackfoot, Idaho, spent last week here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Junius Banks and Mrs. Wallace Banks attended funeral fu-neral services for Mrs. Delia R. Booth in Provo on Monday. Mrs. Booth was an aunt of Mrs. Banks. Mrs. Kate Anderson left Wednesday Wednes-day for Salt Lake City. She expected ex-pected to undergo an operation for the removal of a goitre at the L. D. S. hospital today (Thursday). Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Kttinger of Nampa, Idaho, are here for a week's visit with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Alf-red Broomhead and other relatives. They are also visiting in Salt Lake City with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Kirkham. Mrs. Alfred F. Adams, Mrs. Eunice Gray and Mrs. Bernlece Goodspeed, who has been visiting here from Los Angeles, visited with Mrs. Vin-nle Vin-nle Ault at the American Fork hospital. Later they visited in Provo Pro-vo with Mrs. Josephine Strong and in the evening they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Johnson In Provo. Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Myron My-ron Burgess entertained at a dinner party at their home in Alpine, honoring hon-oring the thirty-second wedding anniversary an-niversary of Mrs. Burgess parents, Mr. and Mrs. Junius Banks. On Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Banks entertained at dinner for them, honoring the anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Anderson accompanied their daughter, Lucile, and Mr. Elmer Carr, through the Salt Lake temple to be married Monday. Later the two families were entertained at a wedding breakfast at the Lion House in Salt Xake City. Decoration Day guests at the home of Mrs. Kate Anderson were Mrs. Cyril Anderson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Anderson and daughter, of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Spurrier and son, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Robins and son, Mr. and Mrs. Trulen Bills, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Mills, Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Freebairn and children, all of Salt Lake City. The family of Patriarch Andrew FJeld celebrated in honor of his seventy-fourth birthday anniversary on Thursday. Mrs. Geneva Stewart returned home last Thursday after an extended ex-tended vacation trip to California and up the coast to Portland, Oregon. Ore-gon. She made the trip in company com-pany with her daughter, Mrs. Leatha Miller, Miss Bonnie Miller and Miss Elizabeth Hatch-'of Vernal. They were gone twenty days, visiting the Boulder Dam en route to California. They visited in Los Angeles with Mrs. Stewart's sister, Mrs. J. B. Watson, visited in San Francisco, in Mexico, and then traveled up the coast through the Red Woods to Portland, Oregon. In Portland they visited with her daughter, Mrs. T. M. Birkbeck. They report a wonderful won-derful trip. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Anderson of Spanish Fork were visiting here Saturday with Mrs. Rachel Anderson Ander-son and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stewart and two .small daughters, Susan and Connie, of Salt Lake City spent Sunday here with Mr. Stewart's mother Mrs. Geneva Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Smith and baby of Provo spent Memorial Day here, visiting with Mrs. Sarah A. K. Smith. ' Miss Zelda Kirkham of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, California, was visiting in Lehi Monday with Mrs. Rachel Anderson An-derson and Mrs. Stanley Taylor. Carlton Peterson and Herman Swenson r returned home Friday night, after spending the week in Rifle, Colorado, where Mr. Peterson Peter-son has an electrical contracting job. . Tuesday morning Mr. Doutre, Max, Edith and Boyd Doutre of Logan, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Anderson. They were en route to California and called to see Miss Marjorie Anderson. Chamberlain Chamber-lain of Cedar Valley announces the marriage of their son, Don D. Chamberlain, and Miss Belva Kitchens Kitch-ens of Trydale, Utah. The marriage mar-riage took place Monday evening, June 3rd at the home of the bride. A wedding reception followed the marriage and was attended by a large circle of friends and relatives. Both young people have been active ac-tive member of their respective communities com-munities and have hosts of friends who join in wishing them much future happiness and success. They will make their home in Cedar Valley for the present. BETROTHAL ANNOUNCED AT PARTY Miss Maxine Kirkham of Provo entertained at a beautifully-arranged party " Wednesday evening, announcing the engagement of Miss Ruby Christensen of Lehi, to Mr. Antone Moody of St. George. The bride-elect's home in Lehi, scene of the affair, was artistic with a profusion of white orange blossoms and blue delphinium, blue and white being the color scheme throughout. The long table was centered with an oval mirror, on which stood a glass slipper filled with flowers. Rice and orange blossoms were sprinkled on the mirror. Dainty refreshments were served to twenty-five guests. Miniature blue and white slipper place cards bore the betrothal news, and the white napkins nap-kins were monogrammed in blue. Games were played, prizes going to those with the highest scores. Miss Lucille Dyring of Manti played four piano selections and Miss Mary McGregor of Provo, accompanied by Miss Dyring sang five lovely songs. The honoree was the recipient of many lovely handkerchiefs. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Max Rothe announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Ruth Rothe, to Mr. Joseph Reeder, son of Mrs. Lula B. Reeder of Brigham City, the marriage mar-riage to take place in the Salt Lake temple the last of tills month. Miss Rothe graduated from the Lehi high school, attended the B. Y. U. at Provo and has been teaching teach-ing school in Lehi and Brigham City during the past few years. She has been active in church and social affairs in the community and has many friends who are extending their wishes for much future success suc-cess and happiness. Mr. Reeder attended the Utah State Agricultural college and fulfilled ful-filled an L. D. S. mission in the Tahitian Islands. He, too, is popular pop-ular in his community and has many friends who are offering their congratulations. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED ; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. TJ. at Provo, will be the principal prin-cipal speaker in the Third ward next Sunday evening. Prof. Gaethe is heard every day at 12:30 over radio station KOVO at Provo, giving comments on the war situation. He is the former president of the Czeckoslovakian mission and a very interesting speaker. The meeting is under the direction direc-tion of the Sunday School officers.
