AN ORDINANCE Glenn Smith returned home Saturday, after enjoying a trip through the Northwest. Assembly president, Mrs. May West, with twelve members from the Queen of the West Murray lodge were guests of the Lehi Ivy Rebekah lodge No. 13 Monday evening, eve-ning, June 3. After a short lodge session the evening was spent with a program and social chat, followed by dainty refreshments. North Fourth WestJROVO or Phone 90-W, Lehi (Continued from page One) trie light revenue bonds of said City in the amount of Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), payable serially in equal annual installments of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) each, commencing two (2) years from the date of the Issuance thereof, there-of, solely from the net revenues of the entire electric light plant and system of said City, and bearing interest at a rate not to exceed six per cent (6) per annum, payable semi-annually, interest and principal princi-pal to be payable at some duly designated bank or trust company, shall be issued pursuant to Chapter 22, Laws of Utah, 1933, Second Special Session, as amended by Chapter 74, Laws of Utah, 1935, for the purpose of defraying the cost of improvements and betterments to the present municipal electric light plant and system of said City for the purpose of more adequately supplying electric light and power to said City and the inhabitants thereof, the net revenues of the entire en-tire light plant and system after the construction and completion of said improvements and betterments to toe pledged to the payment of said bonds. Section 2. That the Mayor of said Lehi City and the City Recorder Re-corder thereof be and they the hereby here-by authorized, instructed and directed di-rected to give notice of such special election by publication in The Lehi Sun, a weekly newspaper published in and of general circulation in said Lehi City, for five (5) publications prior to the date of said election, and also by posting or causing to be posted copies of such notice in three (3) public and conspicuous places in said City for the same length of time, said notice to be in substantially the following form, to-wit: NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION, LEHI CITY, UTAII COUNTY, STATE OF UTAII PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Saturday the 6th day of July, A. M. The polling place for all qualified electors of said City shall be at the City Hall on North Center Street in said City, and the Judges oi election elec-tion at said polling place shall be T. F. Klrkham, Raymond H. Stewart, Stew-art, and Virgil H. Peterson. Dated at Lehi City, Utah County, State of Utah, this 3rd day of June, A. D. 1940. That the City Recorder Record-er be and he is hereby authorized and directed to communicate such instructions to said Judges of such special election as may be necessary to enable them to properly conduct such election, canvass the votes and certify thereof to said City Council of Lehi City, Utah, as required by law, and that said City Recorder shall cause ballots to be printed in the form set forth in said notice and furnish said ballots to the Judges of said election to be by them furnished to the qualified electors thereat, and that said City Recorder shall also provide a ballot box, poll' books, and all stationery necessary for the use of said Judges at said election. Section 5. That said election shall be conducted as nearly as possible pos-sible in conformity with the general election laws of the State of Utah. Section 6. That at said election only those qualified electors of said City who paid a property tax therein there-in in the year next preceding such election shall be permitted to vote, and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of said Lehi City and the inhabitants thereof that this Ordinance become operative inimedlately so that the election provided for herein may be held on the date specified, so that improvements improve-ments and betterments to the electric elec-tric light plant and system may be constructed as quickly as possible, NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT FURTHER FUR-THER ORDAINED that an emergency emer-gency is hereby declared, and that the City Recorder is hereby authorized author-ized and directed to cause this Ordinance Or-dinance to be published in one issue of The Lehi Sun, a weekly newspaper news-paper published in and of general circulation in said Lehi City, and that this Ordinance shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication publica-tion as above provided. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Webb are proud and happy parents of a lovely love-ly baby daughter, their second child, born on Wednesday, May 29, in the American Fork hospital. Mother and baby are doing nicely.
