He served three and one-half years in the United States navy and at nresonfi i employed at Geneva Steel. .Close friends of Miss Boley are entertaining at a bridal shower show-er in her honor Monday evening and her parents will be hosts at a reception in Firmage Hall. The couple will make a home in Provo. Carson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carson, Fairfield. The wedding took place in Elko. Nev.. April 29. Accompanying the couple to the Nevada city were John Carson, Car-son, brother of the grocm, and Miss Gloria Stokes, Alpine. The new Mrs. Carson graduated from the local high school with the class of 1943 and has since been employed at the Steel City Inn. Mr. Carson is employed at the Tooele Chemical plant. They will make a home in American Fork. F. Lions and Ladies Attend Zone Party Lion Club members and their wives were in attendance at the zone dinner dance held at the Windsor Chapel Thursday night wiin tne orem club as host. Lions from Lehi, Orem, Provo, Payson and American Fork were in attendance at the social. Special Spec-ial table decorations, corsages for the wives of presidents, and musical selections featured the party. Club President David Taylor and Mrs. Taylor were in attendance attend-ance as were Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Halliday, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sibel, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Steven R. Students Win Spots In BYU Elections American Fork students at Brigham Young university were active in political circles on the campus last week. Don L. Peterson won a place on the final ballot for president of the junior class and Doug Nich-oles Nich-oles won a place on the same ticket for the office of vice president presi-dent at the primary elections. Elections will be held Thursday and Friday of this week. , The Associated Men Students on the "Y" campus voted Russell Mickclson into the office of vice president at elections held last week. Geniel Thornton was elected elec-ted to the office of chairman of the Social committee at the same election by members of the Associated As-sociated Women. Miss Thornton was also co-chairman of the annual "Y" day held last Wed nesday at which time the block letter on the hill was painted and the participants enjoyed a cake-baking contest, outdoor games and sports and a "Y" day dance in the evening. KDA ELECTS OFFICERS Members of "the Kappa Delta Alpha, the high school dramatic organization, elected a new roster of officers last week. Richard Devey was elected president, Kaye Holmstead was elected vice president, presi-dent, Lou Jean Bowen was selected select-ed for the secretary-treasurer's office, and Carol Richards was named reporter for the group. The drama group recently pre sented the mystery drama, "Nine Girls" and plan to use the pro ceeds to purchase much needed stage equipment. During the past year, Connie Pritchett was president; Joan Karren - was vice president; Louise Boley served as secretary; and Janice Chadwick was the reporter. . . ART ASSOCIATION MEETING TONIGHT The Associated Artists of American Amer-ican Fork will meet tonight (Thursday) at the home of Mrs. W. S. Groesbeck, 398 Jeiierson Ave., to further plans for the snrine exhibition of work of the association members.
