New City Jail Nearing Completion The construction of the new city jail that has been in session for the no at Rpveral weeks is nearinit com pletion. It Is built onto the Memorial building and contains a Juvenile ward and a cell room. The entire interior has been calsomined and it presents a very clean and neat looking appear ance. The exterior ifl finished in Spanish type to correspond with the Memorial building and the public opinion is that it is really an Improve ment to the building and the grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Len Terry of Alpine, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilmot of American Fork, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. B, W. Brown. Andy Shelton, who has been employed em-ployed In the mines in Arizona for the past two years, has arrived here for an indefinite visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shelton. , Local Items Velma Fjeld is visiting in Provo this week with her sister, Mrs. Fred Carter. They are living in George Zimmerman's home. Ora and Rhoda Clark returned home Sunday, after enjoying a pleasant vacation trip at Bear Lake and all through Idaho. Enroute home they visited In Ogden with their sister and ibrother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Dransfleld. Evelyn Clark who has been visiting at the Dransfleld home for the past two weeks and FJwin Dransfleld accompanied them to Lehi Mrs. Richard Hutchlngs. was visit ing with her mother, Mrs. Louise Mc- Candlass of American Fork, Monday. Mrs. Sarah J. Taylor in company with Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hart of Mid- vale, spent a very delightful week-end visiting at Brighton. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Saturday the Gardner famlTy enjoyed a family gathering and outing at Liberty Park, Salt Lake City. They spent a very pleasant day together. Arlene Allred, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney C. Allred, had the misfortune to fall out of a tree and break her arm, last week. Gilchrist, Gil-christ, remained for a week's visit with their grandparents. The American Legion is entering a float in the parade in the Spanish Fork. July 24th celebration today. This evening, (Thursday) the parade will be taken to Springville. The float is decorated especially to advertise the Black Hawk Encampment and Sugar -Pay. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Larsen motored to Provo, Monday evening. Mr. Robinson Robin-son and Mr. Larsen attended a business busi-ness meeting and the ladies enjoyed a show at the Paramount theatre. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Gough of Salt Lake City, are rejoicing over the arrival ar-rival of a fine baby boy, born July 10. at the L. D. S. hospital. All concerned con-cerned are doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. G, R. Taylor, are home again, after enjoying a wonderful vacation in Southern Utah. They visited at Puffer Lake, Zions Canyon, the Kaibab Forest, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and at Fish Lake. Fishing, Fish-ing, camping and visiting all places of beauty and interest In these sections were the outstanding diversions of their trip. They were gone about a week. Last Wednesday morning at 5 a. m. the Trailbuilders of the Lehi Stake Primary gathered together at the City Park, with the Stake leaders, Mrs. Lidia Bushman and Mrs. Beatrice Taylor,- where they cooked their breakfast and played many interesting games. Every trailbuilder reports a good time. Last month the boys were taken by their leaders to the home of Mr. John Hutchings where they viewed view-ed his display of birds, animals, relics and nature collections.
