Pupils aro not allowed to leave tho school play-grounds at rcccb or any other time during session of school, except by permission per-mission of the teacher. 2. Hepeuted violations of any of tho rules or tho regulations of tho school by any pupil, or continued con-tinued disobedience to tho teacher shall bo considered cause for expulsion. expul-sion. 8. In caso of continued bad conduct on tho part of any pupil tho teacher may suspend thooflend-ing thooflend-ing member in conformity with law, and shall report by tho following' follow-ing' day to u trustee and ulso Ur-a parent or guardian, giving reasons therefor. i. Pupils to be placed in tho grade to which they wcro promoted or to receive promotion at end of year mast attend tho lirst two and last two weeks of school. 5. No child shall, for tho first time, be received into tho schools unless tho said child U six years of age. (J. Any child coming to school wtthout proper attention being given to cleanliness, or whoso clothes need repairing, may be sent homo to bo properly iitted for school. 9. Pupils may bo required to recite after school such lessons us huvo been missed through alwonco or improper pieparation. llut no pupil shall bo detained at noon lecoss, and if detained at any other lecess, ho shall bo permitted to go out immediately thereafter. 10. Boistei ou8 behavior, scuffling, scuffl-ing, whistling, or loud tulk shall not bo allowed in tho school build-bigs; build-bigs; a"d pupils shall not enter thu door of any room, not their own, without the consent of tho propor touohor. 1J, No teacher or pupil shall bopormitted to use tobacco, either during school hours, or any other .time. Any pupil having been absent ab-sent or lardy shall bo required to bring u written explanation from parent or guardian. 17. Pupils must leave the school premises and go directly homo after school is closed unless otherwise permitted by the principal. princi-pal. 18. If u pupil has boon proved guilty of truancy, he shall not bo permitted to return to school without with-out the written consent of tho school board and the principal. 10. Pupils uro forbidden U) bring to school any books or papers foreign to purposes of study. 20. Childien applying for admission ad-mission to tho public schools, except ex-cept in high schools, will bo furnished fur-nished fieo of charge with all necessary nec-essary text books and sunnlies used in their classes; but they will bo held responsible for tho proper ciro of such articles, and loss or injury is to bo made good, by prompt payment of damages. 21. Pupils who complete the eight grade aio eligible to enter tho preparatory department of tho State University. Unfortunately as yet, there aro so fow public high schools, in tho state that the University is compelled for tho present to maintain a preparatory, or high' school department, to, lit students to enter the college proper. "With its desire of abolishing this department at tho earliest possible date, this institution is giving "its heartiest cncourageiiient to iill cllbrts to establish regular high schools.
